Thread: Origins of the Saber Crystals.

I've not read any books, and I can't remember where I heard this from. Weren't there caves on the planet Lum where the Jedi went to seek their saber crystals?
I wish they would give us traditional methods of creating our lightsabers in this game. Originally, that's what I thought the Padawan Trials were going to be about. Quests that had to be accomplished to obtain resources and componants for crafting them.
Why did they waste time with the stupid resource drops that the "sith" has during the village grind? Stupid stupid stupid. I still have most of that crap and I'm getting ready to destroy it. A while back, I thought I was meant to keep it for LS crafting. I don't get it.

I was just one place that they got them from. The first saber luke makes (the green one) he makes the crystal him self with some oven type device, it even goes into some detail about how natural crystals are better but a crafted one will do in a pinch. Later he uses a shard of the Kybar(sp) crystal to craft a saber for Leia that turns out to be a very powerfull saber that she still uses to this day.

The cave was on the planet illum
Sith use synthetic crystals that they make specifically red

I read a book called The Dark TIdeOnslaught or something and Corran Horn had like an emrald or a diamond in his saber

Well I think for Luke it was the Agedan (sp?) Crystal that he used. Corran Horn (sp?) Used some sort of White crystal that I think his wife/smuggler procured for him? I'm not sure, it's all so fuzzy now.
Their lightsabers were basically made out of Junk though, the only 2 parts of the Lightsaber that were difficult was obtaining the exact right kind of crystal, and the force infusion to actually make it work. (It wouldn't work at all without the force infusion.) heh

Why would they give us something extremely cool and fun to do?

Sidalo was right . It isILUM that the Jedi got MOST of the crystals from. There were other places however. Sidalo was also 100% correct about the sith crafting the red crystals.
