I was only a Jedi for about 3 weeks before the CU hit so I could be mistaken on my information, If I am wrong let me know.
I remember Pre-CU the saber styles were unique:
One-handed-High speed/Low Dam
Two Handed-Mid Speed/Mid Dam
Double-Low speed/High Dam
This seemed like a good system that gave pros/cons to each saber type, now they are all the same...Why was this changed, Just another 1 dementional idea from SOE?

The damages were for the most part, the same. It was just that
one handed: head hit, the pvp vs non jedi saber
double: early spin attack (think this was the highest dmg by a couple points)
two handed: useless but had cool looking specials

if you look through the old threads, you will find that there were tons of posts asking for the damages to be made the same so you would see something other than dbl bladed once in a while
funny, but they did just that

And I for one am glad for it... nice to see more sabers being used other than DB.

Yep, pre-cu it was DB saber ftw. Did the most damage for the force used so it was really the most efficient. People asked for all the sabers to be the same to diversify it and, as a previous poster said, they did it. Unfortunately, they revamped the entire game too and did a really bad job at it so now there is saber diversity but a really inferior game. Oh well, guess you should be careful what you ask for.

Good to see the game full of 2handed instead of DB LOL, dont think they accomplished much, now DB is just plain better unless you are gonna do more than 2 trees of LS
