this was taken from the gamespot article.
The mouse-clicking scheme actually seems similar to that of Diablo II, in that you can either click repeatedly or click and hold your mouse button to attack repeatedly. You'll need to keep your reticule on enemies that flee, though from what we've seen, this won't be terribly challenging in terms of requiring twitch reflexes. We're told that this new combat system will still be built around groups of characters with different strengths. Certain characters will still be better than others at soaking up damage from enemy attacks and should remain up front, while support characters, like medics, will still want to hang back from the front lines.
Now i keep hearing it the game will play similar to a FPS, as also evidenced in the gamspot article, but they threw me off with that setence. are we going to have to point and click to move, or will it use wasd, or what?
Anyone have any idea?

I think when they're referring to the Diablo 2 style of gameplay, they mean attacking only. You won't be selecting from a ton of specials in your toolbar. You will left click your target to attack, hold on the target to repeatedly attack and use the radial menu for special attacks.

You will be selecting from specials on your toolbar. But, they are assigned to the number keys. you press the number corresponding to the special you want, and right click. Thunderheart stated this was teh case in one of his posts.....

So okay..lets say for instance as a Jedi, I have my lightsaber equipped...so i run to my foe, left cleck..hold it or click it repeatedly to slash at them..then i can right click and use a special..so i can hit the number 1 and choose force lightning, right click, and useit...and if i wanna change my special to, i dunno..force choke..i can press two and right click and use force choke...and i assume move around with wasd...so its kinda like jedi academy in a way? in terms of movement i mean?

That is how it sounded to me too. I don't mind that system and it worked pretty good in JA. We'll see how it works in this game soon.

I was a big fan of the Diablo II control system, it was easy and effective to use. if this is how it is going to be I think I will be quite comfortable with it.

yes, from the posts I have gathered:
left click will do your attack
you will have a selected special, which right click will activate. Specials are able to be swapped on the fly.
