Thread: Using Droids with Jedi ?
I used a droid last night against a Bh with quite good effect.
Cm turns up while im helping some paddies in our guild grind soI run away from the lair (I wasnt in comabt but I didnt want to ruinour paddies grinding)The Bh is about to do the old "I'm gunna sit down next to you as I paralyse and debuff you technique to save mind" so I make sure i am at least 10m away from him so he cant paralyse me while I am calling my droid.
luckily he didnt attack within the next 15seconds or that would have canceled the droid call.
So I get paralysed I hit my panic macro which eats all foods etc and tell the droid to attack.
The Bh started laughing saying omg 41 damage but i thought ahh well every little helps and when i get AB on the damage should increase a little.
Funny thing was after a few mins of me and the droid laying on the damage the BH runs low on mind kills my droid in a few hitsand starts running of into a lake to regen.
To cut a long story short he come out the lakecallshis owndroid of his own and we go at it again. I end up winning he told me he got the kd bug but he was low on mind again.
I wasn't really to bothered considering I had effectivly beaten him twice.
Ineed to test to see if droid repair kits can be used on incaped droids and if they have any costs associated with them.
One thing i did think would be useful is that if you got attacked in a town you could brakeLOS to halt combat and call your droid instantly if youhad it on your toolbar, or were just quite quick on the datapad business.
All in all it works as a nice little dot, whats good for the goose and all that
My alt is a BE/CH so i am thinking of trying to make a high damage lvl 10 pet that could lay on some kinetic damage and maybe even a few nice specials that my template lacks e.g intimidate.
I am also not sure if using pet stims have mind costs but kinetic damage really could be good against a Bh as it will be the last thing they are expecting and any prepared Bh will not have there armour set up for this, plus like I said before every little helps.
thanks for the insight buddies..
What I am interested most in knowing is whether droids with medical bonus help the jedi healing same as it helps normal healing...also what type is best to use as I have seen many: combat/ surgical/protocol etc..?
Get a probot combat droid. They class max at about 30 grouped with the owner. Damage and armor vary. Try and get one with auto-repair capabilities, it makes a difference.
The best part of using a droid is the decent DPS that more or less negates most regeneration rates. Using a droid while solo means the damage you do is damage taken, the droid hits to keep the regen down.
Before the great trap nerf for Rangers, I could solo anything - I mean anything - in the game with my droid.

Droid Repair Kits will heal an Incapped droid. Basically it heals X amount so if that amount is greater then it's -HP it will come back on the first application. There are 4 levels of repair kit, with the Type D healing more damage.
Droid Resto Kits repair the black bar and can only be used by DEs.
Droid autoheals stack - so if you have a group with a couple of droids they will heal each other.

The guy I was fighting did heal his droid with bacta once. So is this regarded as an explot?
I then smacked it down again and rooted him so he was too far away to bacta/spray shot it and bacta toss uses alotmore mind.
He didnt bother trying to heal it again after that as he had to then worry about healing himself.
Either way they lose a combat round and mind if they are going to heal the droid and it only takes a couple of hits to put the droid down again.
Also it seams that droids have no kd recovery so if you kd them it takes them out the fight for 30secs
Yes it is an exploit to use bacta heals on combat droids
