Thread: Way's to fix Jedi popualtion.

What good does it do to advertise for jedi in all comercial only to hit them in the face when they get one?
SOE are loosing jedi players over this, and making a lot more players unhappy.
I think if this situation stays they should remove the forced PvP, and bring the PvP to what is was supposed to be: 2 oposite players meeting on equal and ready ground.
1.) This would remove lot of heated tension between lots of players, making people actually stay in the game! And making players more HAPPY!!
2.) One of the things games like WoW have is no forced PvP, which ruins the game play! Because I got hit by BHs a countless times doing quests
and missions, making it difficult to actually PLAY and ENJOY the game!
3.) The nerfs would does not matter too much, because if you go FRS/GCW PvP, you have to accept your current strength.
4.) The outcry and needs for balance all the bloody time will be heavily reduced.
5.) BHs will still have their NPC Boss marks dropping all the hawt loot, and they pay well too.
6.) Jedi will have more peace, and can consentrate on GCW, FRS (when it hits live) or actually enjoy this games missions and quests
Like it is now, its totally unfair:
1.) BHs have krayt tissue weapons while Jedi have borked sword and no weapon of equal quality, mainly due to no premium/flawless pearl drops
2.) Jedi have Mind, Action and Force Cost added to the Lightsaber and also in addition Health cost on some skills! While BHs have only have action cost!
3.) Sliced weapons and sliced armour, to heavily reduce our damage. Jedi have only Defence in Defender tree, but if we get the Defender tree
we cant get enhancer so we could use stasis. BHs have Root and Snare as "standard" in their template. we cant get this without messing up
4.)Jedi have no practically posibility of getting Buffs like the BHs have. They can get easy a Doc buff before going to hunt, and soon a Ranger buff too. Jedi have to get buff every 40 minutes just to be equal here!!
5.) more.
Now the BHs are looking into driving us out of our homes too, after the new correspondent!
And you wonder why people quit??
All I want to is play and have fun with my jedi! Instead SOE are making it very difficult to actually enjoy it!
No, I wont quit jedi. Jedi is the main reason I joined this game. Jedi is for me STAR WARS! Its just that im dam unhappy with the current situation! I love this game! I got 5 characters, and enjoy all the parts. And I am a veteran by all aspects, having tried all the professions in this game!
SOE, Please fix jedi or at least get rid of the Forced PvP! And I will promise you people will be quite more happy with this game, and not leaving! It will also reduce the number of jedi on Ebay, and drop the prices on the pearls drastically, so you can get them removed from Ebay..
At least SOE! give us a comment! I know some of you said you wanted to increase the communication between players and SOE. At least tell us where we stand, and what we can expect!

You can see the new players coming into the game... playing for a few weeks... seeing how rediculous the system is... then they talk to the existing Jedi players and find out how miserable it is being a Jedi... then they quit the game. They are around for maybe a month... MAYBE. The die-hard people that make the game what it is are thoroughly annoyed with SOE now and are leaving...
And for the record... paying for new contact via expansion when bugs are not being fixed is not the way to keep customers.

I have a mdef full template jedi toon and i've been discouraged enough by nerfs,bugs, and bh'sto not play her in quitea while...and when i'm playing my non-jedi toon i feel very outnumbered by all the damn jedi lol....the jedi craze will eventually die out and only the people who really want forced pvp and the 'role' of a jedi will keep playing theirs..i think this is what SOE has in mind..
i have just as much fun on my non-jedi toon, if not more than when i played my jedi...i dont have to keep watching my back and i can actually go pee w/out finding/setting upa private house to sit in!

I have a mdef full template jedi toon and i've been discouraged enough by nerfs,bugs, and bh'sto not play her in quitea while...and when i'm playing my non-jedi toon i feel very outnumbered by all the damn jedi lol....the jedi craze will eventually die out and only the people who really want forced pvp and the 'role' of a jedi will keep playing theirs..i think this is what SOE has in mind..
i have just as much fun on my non-jedi toon, if not more than when i played my jedi...i dont have to keep watching my back and i can actually go pee w/out finding/setting upa private house to sit in!
Please enlighten us... what is the *role* of a Jedi in this game? To me it seems to be entertianment / fodder for the MBH / MCM profession.
And for the record... if you think they are too many Jedi for this time period... please explain where there are so many combat medics in this time period? Don't recall seeing them anywhere in the books and movies.

I wish Perma Death was re-enabled and for us to keep our power instead of nerfing jedi...

I wish there was a box to select to bring back permaovert status to people like you. With the bonuses ofcource. You would end up not playing at all your jedi, or you would end up without a jedi soon enough. And from your words, I guess you would accept that. And I wish I could ask to see if you still agreed on this, the third time you loose you internet connection in the middle of a fight leading you to the cloner!
Just leave others who dont like the permadeath out of it!

hmm the 'role' of the jedi in this game? i dunno if you want me to answer that with what i think it should be or what it really is, either way the label on the box says 'game experience may change during online play'....
and i never said there are too many jedi i just said i feel outnumbered when i'm playing my non-jedi toon....sorry to quote myself a 3rd time but it seemed necessary

Yeah the game was said to take place during a time in which only a few Jedi were thought to be in existance, now I'm not denying that there weren't more but Jedi were looked up to, as a class above the rest. They kept them "rare." As far as their "role" in game, it's to play with and have fun. If you want to PvE then by all means please do so, if you want to PvP then sure, go ahead. Saying that a Jedi's role in game is nothing but a plaything for MBH/MCM is ridiculous. A BH comes and kills you, oh noes, you loose upto 500k xp, which you can regrind in about an hour with the right group. Avoid visibility if you have to, hell I know Jedi that have grinded their entire template out without getting a BH on them, so it can be done. If you don't want that added littlebit of PvP then don't become a Jedi, you know the risks comming into the proffesion, you make the decision.
