Can someone tell me what's going to happen in the jedi revamp? Is it going to change how to open your FSS as well?

check your badges when the change goes live, i have it on good authority that there will be a "...has failed in the path to become a Jedi" badge given to everyone who reached their silent and didn't unlock, and a "...has successfully kept their sanity by not hologrinding" to people who opened a holocron, and then ignored it and continued playing how they were before.

Well, here's my outlook on the situation:

The devs have said that anyone pursuing jedi prior to Publish 9 will be given some sort of compensation for all their work. They also said that they are switching to quest-based FSCS. But then I thought, "Well, what about the people that have done plenty of exploration?" Think about how many people their are on your server that have all of the exploration badges. There are also TONS of people on the servers that have done plenty of quests already and continue to do them as they are introduced. Now what would that mean? I'll tell you:

People will start SWG, update for Publish 9, and get Jedi upon logging in. Now why won't that happen? SOE is not dumb. There will be something that will make it so that no one can get their unlock because an update. Where's the sport in that? The forums would be flooded with people saying "Publish 9 released; Unlocked". So to sum up my point: it won't be easy. They will have some miniscule and completely random/stupid thing you have to do for each character. One person may have to visit the Ewok Village, talk to a random person in the deserts of Tatooine, and kill an NPC in Nym's Stronghold. The next person may have to harvest 20,000 units of hide from an enraged rancor, fight against a kimogila and engage in 200 PVP battles. The third person gets a random variation of the above. Also, who's to say that you still don't have to master all your pre-destined professions on top of the gay quests?

So basically... yea, you're screwz0red.

Good thing I saved my 40k+ of Rancor hide , Watch it be some RIS quests, return to me with a Krayt Peral: "a reward 50 credits has been placed in your bank account." Will they also hope we forget about the space expansion? Dangle another carrot infront of our hungry mouths. I think there might be a person or two who gets 100% screwed by the revamp IE: they have mastered 30-31 professions and the next day the system changes. I want the SOE badge of torture.

Good Morning,

I often wonder how credit will be given and how the new quest structure will be. I believe it will include you mastering professions. The npc who is guiding your quest will give you hints to what is needed next. This will allow players to progress in a more linear fashion. It will also allow the casual player some outlet to become a jedi. There will still be grinding but it will be more of a guided tour than a shot in the dark.

If you can remember back b4 the holocrons, players were not using all the professions. One reason for the holo method was to get players to use the professions. If they swap over to a quest based non grind method, you will see the players gravitate back to those uber templates they loved so much.

I believe the cantinas and medical centers will empty again as people change back to super tmplate characters instead of a great mix of all professions.

Actually, I think that we non-Holo-grinders go through as much torture as you silly Holo-grinders...I'm getting bored out of my mind with this game, what with PvE being too easy and un-fun or too hard and un-fun, people not PvP'ing or when they do, they spoil it with the magic of the clone zerging or multi-sliced armor and weapons, blah, blah, blah. What else does that leave to do? Well, I've already explored every planet..seen just about every mob out there and tried to kill it..seen all the caves and dungeons and gone through them entirely..I guess that just leaves the professions I haven't done yet. But oh, the horror of Holo Hunting is massive. So one must buy their Holos, wasting their entire bank account on a single one, and repeating this until you grind through the professions and get your silent message. I did my first Holo, Commando, and then opened my second and it said Bounty Hunter. I don't have the patience for that So now when I log on, I find myself standing in front of the Travel Terminal, not having anything I want to do. I want to unlock my FS slot, but the only way to get there is by self-torture (grinding). It is like starving a horse and then dangling a carrot in front of his nose, and when he goes to snatch it up, you place the carrot at the end of a 1500-mile long hallway whose floor is made up of spikes sharp enough to split a hair, and to top that off, the spikes are doused in napalm. Give ME the SOE badge of torture, too

Actually I thought they said that you would be compensated for current grinding progress (not special consideration...more like a t-shirt or something ).
