Thread: has anyone thought about this?

I have been seeing alot of posts about how you should get 4000 tka and 0404 fencer and 4000 medic to help out your jedi but has anyone actually done the math? I just did and was astounded by what I saw.

I am a 4334 Initiate with 1.6 mill exp banked. This puts me at 0144 sabres. Now with the 1.6 mill I can buy the other 4 novice boxes for 80k for the force pool and regen which is a good trade off. Then spend the rest on enhance. Say 2200 so you can get force speed and force armor.

Let's add these points up. 0144 sabres=56 points, 4 novice boxes=32 points, 2200 enhance=28 points, fcs points=24 points. Adds up fast doesn't it. That's a total of 140 points. You now have 110 points to spend.

4000 medic will cost you 29 points. Novice tka will cost you 35 points, you will need to go to 4000 tka or maybe not, depends on your taste and what your looking for, that will cost you 14 more points. So to be a 4000 medic and 4000 tka will cost you a grand total of 78 points leaving you 32 points. Heck novice fencer will cost you 20 points so that is no longer viable. So it must be either fencer or tka and not much of those lines either.

Which also brings another question I've seen asked. Will Knights be allowed to swap around their boxes without having to regrind them. In case their template might not be working or they nerf something and boost something else making their template less than desireable. I believe the answer will have to be no, otherwise the system can be manipulated.

In the above example I've already spent 140 points in jedi. What's to keep me from grinding out 10 of the 8 point boxes and 5 of the 6 point boxes for a total of 110 points. I have just spent all of my points in jedi making me elligible for the knight trials at the cost of a severely gimped jedi. I group with my buddies and do the trials making me a knight with a better robe. I go live somewhere off the beaten path with my alt doc and start grinding exp and swapping boxes around.

I'me not saying anyone would do that and if I haven't done the math on it yet but if it turns out to be viable.......

I was wondering if it would be to far fetched to maybe give a person thats in the FRS robes that maybe give a few more skill points, because after all not all jedi were equal in power.

Just a thought.

Point 2 Jedi are not 1.5 times stronger tha any other prof.

just my thought of the night...........i know people would complain, but they complain as it is

that would only cause people to find ways to exploit it faster, and it wouldnt be fully fair with the FRS turned off, so only some would get the chance

but i do agree, jedi arent 1.5 times better than the other proffs now

No. Skill points are the fundamental limits to achieve balance. If you allow somebody to get more than 250 skill points, he will be severely unbalanced towards all others. You can introduce some skill mods to make some skills work a little better, but allowing to get more skills is unbalancing.

If this was to happen then people would complain unfair treatment for Jedi. I would like it cause I am a Jedi.

My current template is LS 0400 / Enh 3302 / Def 0040 / Pow 0400 / Heal 3000 and some rifleman stuff. I dont need to fight regular players to face same-level opponents. I am telling you as a Jedi that getting more Jedi skills in any Jedi template is unbalancing.
