Thread: Saber damage > 100% wounds

I was toying around with the idea of Lightsabers keeping the same damage as of now, but causing 100% wounds.
This would make Lightsabers very deadly without much effort... and it's also somewhat more truthful to the original idea.
This would also make lightsaber duels very quick ofcourse, but that's prefered in my book.
Just like the movies, people should think it's literally insane to believe anyone can TANK a Jedi. Forget about MCM's... If they get <5m range they are toast. Ranged BH's, just like it should be.

Just be better to reinstitute Lightsaber damage. Then the devs could rebalance the dungeons for all. See the clicky in my sig.

Lightsaber Damage = ArmorBreak
More or less the same thing. Just a bit more balanced.
Lightsaber Damage could still be healed without effort, wounds cannot.

MsNil see my post in response to your other thread. I think perhaps one skill, such as Saber Slash (mentioned in your thread) should have a greater chance of wounding an opponent. Would make x4xx Jedi Healers and Doctors more viable in combant, maybe.

I personally disagree, I mean every Bounty Hunter template wil HAVE to include doc to have any chance of beating good jedi. This will severely reduce the variety of possible jedi hunting templates. I know that Jedi has virtually NO alternatives to a Defender and saber template but that's no reason to reduce others' choices.

i agree that LS should make more wounds
i made a threed about it the other day really but with BF included wich i never understand why they tood away

Well, I have heal 4100 which means I could heal my wounds faster than you can make them. So, that wouldn't make duels any shorter for me.

Would also give some great bonus for the 1h line, and would strengthens master lightsaber. Hmm.

The Bounty Hunters can defeat Jedi without taking any damage right now.

It wouldnt limit templates what so ever, a bounty hunter would simply have to try and stay outside the range of the jedi while fighting, and not stand there and tank like they do now.

Which should be 100% lethal anyway.

This would also allow MCM's to go unnerfed.

I gotta agree with Nil on this one. BH's would have to think twice about engaging a Jedi with 100% wound chance on their sabers. Also, as much as Jedi have to fight Krayts and other high-level NPC's, this would give us a better chance of finishing them off because we would have a counter to the fast regen times of so many high level mobs.
Additionally, you would see a serious drop in the amount of public LS dueling and other frivolous use of lightsabers. "Who wants to duel, no db?" would never be asked of a Jedi again. Well, okay, maybe a foolhardy noob would make that kind of challenge ![]()

This sounds like a pretty good idea. but at the rate even a Master Doc. Heals wound who wants to get 2999 wounds healed 80 at a time?
