Thread: Jedi grind pre-CU and post-CU...............the thoughts of an old Jedi

I have 2 jedi. Yeah 2.

One i have unlocked prepub 9.....was hard to grind and hard to unlock...but really rewarding in the end!

The second i have unlocked 30 days ago and now i already have a FULL TEMP JEDI....so what remains of the jedi profession?

Its power? No not really...jedi are not that powerful believe me

Its coolness? Well, if you need to have a jedi in SWG to feel cool........you have some problems

Its exclusivity? No more......as you can see i grinded a full temp jedi in 30 days...chatting with 8/10 other jedi...smashing lairs without thinking.

Where is the old good SOLO grind on Endor ?

Where is thatunique feelinginspired by the fact that you were fighting in an hostile planet on your own?

Where is that sense of risk that made the grind exciting?

Where is the adrenaline given by a dot appearing on your radar?

No more emotions in being jedi, no more passion.............no more moral reward.

Because back in the days creating a jedi and grinding it out till full was the proof of your victory against the game itself, now its a mere extra pg that requires no effort.

Unlocking my second jedi gave me some emotion......then i realized how easy was to grind and how common was the process.......no more hiding, no more risk...no more EMOTIONS.

I hope SOE will nerf these spin groups so all of you new padawans can experience what being a Jedi really means.

-Comparative appendix

Post CU

Full-template grinding time: 28 days in spin groups

Max EXP gained in one playing day (8hrs): 3.2 Millions (!!)

BH encountered: 0

Pre CU

Full-template grinding time: 3 months and a half

Max EXP gained in one playing day (8hrs): 950k

BH encountered: 7

I dont think this game will be the new KOTOR in the future.

I am not angry for that.

I am angry with the new system because it does not give the right "emotional" reward for being a jedi...

Yep we said this after the CU man, getting Jedi now is cake and the grind is even more of a Joke.

-- one month grind and your done, whats even more funny is a Death by BH is more or less just a thorn in your toe that can be pulled out if you know what your doing.

Very very sad I agree, but with great -- risk, um I mean with great power,.. um -- Ok well I mean with 50000 Jedi now and the CU we are more or less a Brawler with a glow stick..

That risk vs reward email we got back then...... scrap it , its no longer true.

its not even close to as long as or hard It took me 3 weeks to get 0040 LS and now it takes a day to do that. The only - thing for new jedi is sabers! how this will effect the game long term who knows, but it much easyer to grind now no need to speculate about that IMO

Whats wrong? Hate hearing the truth? --- I think if you embraced it you might learn somthing from it.

The sad thing is its the one month club that cries nerf alot of the times without a clue as to what is going on or the experience to understand it. THAT is why this part of it is a issue. Overnight Jedi and the nerf crying isa issue and its been proven time and time again.

It's to bad too...

Pointless post, if you feel more reward by soloing the grind, fine. However, the call to nerf xp for everyone else because it doesnt enhance YOUR gameplay.... give me a break. If you wanted the reward, go grind by yourself on endor. Making my grind 3x longer wont give me a religious experience. They made the FS grind twice as long, its longer than the jedi grind now. But you probably were a grenade chucker.

I agree with you completely, but there's a whole bunch of people here who have NO CLUE what you are talking about, and they don't care either.

They got thier Jedi (even though it's a sad replacement for what Jedi once was, and again, they'll never know what it was like when Jedi were both rare, AND POWERFUL), and that's all they care about.

I will say this though, there are others who feel exactly the same way you do, and at I guess at least we can say we got there when it actually meant something, and was actually fun to play.

I don't have any problem with all the new Jedi myself, but I do feel sorry for them, becuase they really missed out on a great gameplay system, before it got nerfed into oblivion.

Now it's just a mindless spingroup grind, that takes absolutely ZERO SKILL WHATSOEVER.

The days when Jedi was an actually an accomplishment, are long gone, and the saddest part is, the crybaby carebears beat the Devs into submission, and the Jedi profession right along with it.

R.I.P. JEDI

Becuase imo, there are no "real" Jedi left, just the laughable excuse they call Jedi now.

What is worse crying nerf or crying because it was harder for me so it should have to be harder for everyone. Some people ground out 32 professions. That was just stupid. So was grinding solo. While I agree getting xp is insane now, I would never want it to go back to the way it was. A happy medium somewhere between the way it is now and the gigantic nerf that they had in for 1 day would probably be the solution. Posting crybaby threads like this is certainly not.
