Thread: A change I like to see to Jedi and give everyone more contents!
Please take the time to read all of the following to understand all the changes and modifications I have proposed!
Standard Master Bounty Hunter:
Give them a little more than they have now, add other things to their terminals.
1. If someone is caught smuggling spice more that 3 times with contraband searches then they get added to the BH (Bounty Hunter) terminals, till killed once or time expires. This will make people avoid Storm Trooper patrols and give everyone something to look out for. If you don’t want to PvP (Player verses Player) then don’t carry spice. Again the same goes for sliced weapons, if you don’t want to be hunted down obey the law and don’t carry a sliced weapon or spices.
2. If a bounty hunter picks a Jedi mission they can in-list the help of group members, up to the max of 8, as that is the maximum group level. This is dependent on the Jedi restructure further down (max CL80 group), but are unlikely to win, skill and timing is everything.
Imperials:
1. If you become a high-ranking Imperial officer then you are granted the ability to do contraband searches on anyone you feel poses a threat to the Imperial fleet. If you make 3 wrong searches (i.e. you search players and they don’t have any sliced weapons or contraband substances, then you are demoted and need to work up to the rank again).
Jedi:
This is in conjunction with the other information in this document.
Return it to its once and its well-known status of all-powerful! Give back the ability to defend others and ourselves as Jedi’s were mainly about helping others. Unless Turned by the dark side and this is generated by the way you fight and the things you do (i.e. quests and battles).
1. A Padawan can reach a new CL level say CL85, this would indicate a full template or a Jedi Knight status.
2. Allow a Jedi Padawan (below CL85) and Jedi Master relationship (CL85 only), this would allow a Jedi and his master to work together as a team in anything they face, but a Jedi Padawan could face most things on his own, PvP or PvE (Player verse Environment).
3. A Jedi (below CL85) in standard PvP would have the ability to take out 99% of people (CL80 and below), to the extent of handling a group of 8 x CL80’s. If the Jedi had a master relationship then the group of 8 beware for they are sure to come off worst but the fight would be fun for all!
4. Remove the crappy force bar, who ever heard Yoda say, wait I can’t hit you with my light sabre because I have run out of force??? Stupid idea SOE…
5. To reach a CL85 I would suggest that a Jedi be able to master 3 out of the 5 skill trees available instead of 2.
So what, that there are so many Jedi’s out there, its obvious that, that’s what people want and to be honest you are not giving people much choice SOE! Nothing else to do!!! Which leads me on to:
NEW Professions
Once a player reaches a CL 80 they’re limited to what they can do next apart from quests, space quests are long and boring and most other quests (planet bound) are easy to complete in hours.
Jedi is the only thing that keeps people pushing on their grind and gives a whole new goal at the end of it. This is in SOE’s interest because it keeps people playing for longer and no one is blind to the fact that SWG is a business for SOE and they want to make money from it. We all know this but you have to keep us interested and we know you are in it for the money, what business isn’t... J
Mandalorin:
Keeping in with the story of Starwars and something that LUCUS are very keen on doing. Mandalorins are a species that evolved that hunted Jedi for game. They enjoyed it and were good at it.
This should be on par with Jedi and work in the same way. You could use Bobber Fet for example to train people in the art of the Mandalorin ways. They would have a similar set up to the Force Sensitivity where by doing a select number of quests, they could become part of the Mandalorin race. This would then require many visits to convert xp (with Bobber Fet) to filling 6 out of 24 branches to becoming a full Mandalorin. This would then give them, as Jedi does an alternate character on the server and uniform such as the Jedi robes (maybe a suit like bobber Fets) and 5 new skill trees. These five new skill trees would be based upon Jedi hunting and allowing them to reach CL85 too as stated in the Jedi section.
They would be an elite fighting profession, with higher defences and the ability to fight at a full template (i.e. CL85) any Jedi they choose. This would also go for Jedi, if a Jedi detects the presence of a CL85 Mandalorin then they too could attack them.
The way a Mandalorin would get their full template is the same as a Jedi, long hard work grinding.
Again a CL85 Mandalorin would be able to master 3 out of the 5 NEW trees’ available to them
Sith:
The third CL85 species, this again in-keeping with the Starwars history would (I am a little sketchy here) be an obtainable goal through similar quest driven grind like the Jedi and the new Mandalorin (see above). They too would be able to access 5 new trees once they become part of the Sith race and would also be granted an alternate character when they begin their grind to CL85.
If a player unlocks an alternate character on Jedi say and then drops it some time later to become a Mandalorin or Sith, they do not lose their character but do NOT get a second one once they reach the stage where they would if they didn’t have one already. So a player can only unlock 1 alternate character but once they have they keep it no matter what they do.
The Sith race were bred from what I know, to use the force to aid them in fighting but did not or could not use it in the way a Jedi could (i.e. no light sabre etc), but this still gave them high abilities. The Sith race were a war mongering race and would hunt anything, Jedi’s or Mandalorins. Again at CL85 they too should be able to fight both races and visa-versa.
FRS
This would kind of replace the FRS (Force Ranking System) to enable more elite version of a known profession, like the rankings on becoming a Jedi Master you could become a Barbarian Mandalorin or a Sith Lord.
As far as balancing the GCW (Galactic Civil War) and keeping in tune with the Starwars history, no Jedi could become part of the Imperial guard as the Emperor wanted to kill all Jedi’s and the Siths and Mandalorins were not interested in such things and this would remove any CL85’s or Extreme elite professions from the GCW fight.
The Imperials verses the Rebels would continue, bounty hunters would become the race that hunted outlaws and people who did bad, Rebels would need to hide more as they were not welcome by the Imperial Guard and as such I think the Overt/Combatant situation should be blended into one. If you want to be a Rebel or Imperial you are forced into wearing the corresponding attire and can be attacked by opposing forces. Again if you are searched by someone from the imperial Guard and you have worked for the Rebellion this could either force you into being discovered or being put on the Bounty Hunter terminals. This would be less likely to be found out but again maybe if searched 3 times by different people or over a certain time period could cause this.
Players could avoid all the PvP by playing the normal professions but it opens up the game to enable a better PvP experience, and although all elite professions such as the Jedi, Mandalorin and Siths would be far more powerful than normal professions they would need to have the right template to defeat a opposing player (i.e. if a template of a Mandalorin could easily beat a Sith at one template a Jedi or a Sith with another template would not be so easy). Again teaming up as groups will work or groups of Jedi and Groups of Mandalorins could attack each other (max of 8 in each group), locking out anyone else joining the fight. A time period would need to be introduced so that if a team of Siths destroyed a team of Jedi’s, the Siths would have time to regenerate before a second wave of Jedi’s or Mandalorins could attack them.
Overview:
The overall goal of this is to stop unwanted NERF’s that SOE are insistent on placing upon Jedi and other professions, removing the need to nerf or update normal professions such as MBH, MRM, MCM, Mdoc etc.
People that are becoming bored with the game would now have something to look forward too and something to keep them in tune with the Starwars history and if LUCUS or SOE do think that there are too many Jedi’s about, then this will invoke the amount of one elite profession such as Jedi to decrease.
PVE playing would not be effected by any of these changes, as all new and updated professions would still need to grind the same as any other profession to get new skill boxes.
PVP attacks while grinding xp would become rare, and therefore would not stop people going out and grinding due to the fact that at full health a Jedi player struggles to PvP let alone when worn down by taking out a nest with friends as it is now with Bounty Hunters verse Jedi, because gang squads of other elite profession would have no way of pinpointing persons that are in the middle of nowhere and as I said before if a standard Master Bounty hunter where to pick a mission on a Jedi then god help them, even if the Jedi was weakened by a nest. This would make the Bounty Hunters have to work as intended and play gorilla warfare tactics (i.e. wait in the shadows and hope their attack is timed right that the Jedi is too weak to fight at the second they strike), but in most cases the Jedi would be able to regenerate.
If it came to it that one CL85 found another grinding then too bad for the one grinding and good luck…
All PvP should incur XP loss.

They could do a "dream sequence" where we all wake up and realize that the last 24 months was just a dream/nightmare and SoE actually publishes the SWG they promised.![]()
Danluf – I think you’re mistaken, this is the correct place for this post, if you had bothered to read it, it related to Jedi very much so and is trying to address the problems so many Jedi’s characters face.
Bugs? SWG has and never will be 100% bug free, we live with bugs all the time. People can deal with bugs, how ever they can’t deal with upgrades/nerfs they didn’t ask for or didn’t want. I think this post hits home for a lot of issues and is an all rounded good idea. It gives people something more to look forward to and make the game better by adding things in people will enjoy not nerffing.
I like this idea very much and I hope SOE will read it.
I think that Jedi is nerfed to much. Feels Nothing like the move/story that I've seen/read.
Jedi was the strongest. Bounty Hunters were killed EASY by a jedi but in this game Its the BH that has the power.
Soe created the overpopulation them self by changing the system. It takes 2 days (for me it did) to get Glowy and after the old man you can start grind wich takes only 6 cycles in the village.
I would like to add a little to your idea. The way of becoming glowy should change REAL FAST.
And its NOT that hard to change it either. Here is my idea about it;
To become glowy a player must first master 8 ELITE proffesions. On each proffesion he must obtain a secret badge wich can ONLY be obtained with that current skill.
(example)- A master rifle man Must take out an enemy and do it SOLO to obtain the secret badge. It will be quest related and he cannot be grouped in order to obtain the badge. He must use Rifleman skills (like cover and snipershot) in order to solve his quest. (why a quest... Well to make sure each proffesion is USED and the player LEARNS about the mastered skill and NOT just grind his way up, the badge can only be obtained when MASTERED the skill and these 8 badge (NOT ...has mastered the RifleMan prof, BUT ...Player has proved is Rifle Skills in Combat) are the prove the player has seen ATLEAST and PLAYED 8 proffesions.
8 badges will be needed BEFORE he/she can even become glowy. Also the skills CANNOT be choosen by players self. It will be a same sort of way like holo-grind as most oldskool players know. These holos CANNOT be traded and will be looted on the missions wich give those secret badges. So each completed mission will give a NEW holo and Bagde of PROVE.
After a player has 8 badges wich proof he/she mastered 8 elite proffesions he can then turn in the last HOLO to became a member of the village. As we all know there is a peace inside the circle of the village. Soin order toget acces inside the village a player CANNOT have any fighting skills. (this will have the affect that this player will need help from other players wich makes it group-based from that point and will keep the jedi population at a very low point).
WHY?? Well on the forums are to many guides to get Jedi. If the system would be like above NO1 can make a guide about it. People will get different tasks and will need groups when the finaly arrive in the village. From the village off it will be quest related. And easy as it is, when a player does NOT have any combat skills in order to visit the village he will need other players to help him when in need of fighting skills.
No quest should be LOOT-related. More like a travel, aks and find out quest. Each player should get different starting points with different tasks so that GUIDES will become useless. (The way of jedi should STAY SECRET).
If jedi can get different trainers then new members in the village can have different quests with different starting points, NOT that hard SOE.
These quests can also be the real foundation of becaming 1 with the Force.*example* Like Find Luke skywalker and learn about the Force. Find .... To obtain skills to Craft a training LS. Each quest could give 1 novice skillbox. A skill box can only be filled when ALL quests in the village are done and the player leaves the village.
An idea is that ONLY a master scout can find his way tru Dathomir and acces the village. (maybe even Only a Ranger). All remaining skillpoints will be used to learn new novice skillboxes.
The grind can ONLY be done SOLO and ONLY wearing a robe (wich also can only be obtained questrelated).
No more tradeble Pearls or Crystals. All must be looted by players themself. (jedi and their Items SHOULD STAY SECRET).
And yes, the idea of obtaining CL85 is very very nice, just add 1 more tree...
just an idea SOE, but I am sure it will have a great effect on gameplay, population and the way of Beiing, Becoming and Playing JEDI.
I like this idea very much and I hope SOE will read it.

I like the Mandalorin stuff, some good honest to gosh Star Wars historical content type stuff. Bitchin.
And regarding the Imperial checking for contraband etc... I reckon that if he does search someone and find contraband and thus gets the dood on the terminals, i think he/she should then be put on the rebel terms to be hunted. Hehe. Its a dog eat dog world out there.

Correction about the Sith:
"The Sith order began thousands of years ago, when a splinter group of dark side-turned Jedi were exiled from the Republic proper. Traveling through the void of unexplored space, these evil Force wielders came upon the world of Korriban, and its native inhabitants, the Sith. The Sith people were talented in their own magic, and the Force flowed strongly in their bloodlines. Despite their potential, the Sith were cowed by the newcomers, and the former Jedi set themselves up as gods among the primitive people.
Generations of interbreeding merged Jedi and Sith bloodlines so that the two became inseparable. Eventually, the term "Sith" came to encompass not only the native inhabitants of Korriban, but rather all members of the dark side sect. The Dark Lords of the Sith ruled from opulent palaces and ziggurats on Korriban and other worlds of their secluded area of space. The Sith grew powerful, and eventually launched a brazen attack into the heart of the Republic, starting a struggle that has lasted millennia.
Time and again the Sith and Jedi clashed, each conflict resulting in worlds ravaged by warfare. The last great battle between Jedi and Sith occurred in the scarred plains of Ruusan. The Sith Lord Kaan and his Brotherhood of Darkness did battle with the Jedi Army of Light. The immense battle resulted in the annihilation of both armies.
One Sith escaped the carnage: Darth Bane.
Bane sought to keep the order alive, but he had witnessed the self-destruction that was inherent in the Sith's previous ventures. Bane crafted the Sith order to preserve it as much as possible. There could only be two, no more, no less. Bane took an apprentice. When that apprentice succeeded him, that new Sith Lord would take an apprentice. And so the Sith would quietly continue for a millennium. Although encounters with Jedi were rare, the Jedi did eventually learn of this new Sith structure, and thought themselves rid of this menace."
