I guess they wouldn't do it in secrecy, as they would hope to lessen the protestwaves going against the newest nerf by heating us up for the new FRS.

Are you kidding.. They'd HAVE to do it in secrecy. Look at everything else they've come out with. Players who get a preview look new stuff have been giving critical suggestions that players want. Of course a lot of it isn't implemented. If they release information on the new FRS it's only going to harm it because people will either not like it or want to improve upon it. Best way (for SOE) is to make it, push it to live, and then forget about it. It's worked for them in the past and it'll continue to work. Just look at the "smuggler revamp". The devs give a layout, ask for input and the dang thing never gets implemented. And now look at the ROTW.. It was nearly completed when it was first announced.. Little to no time at all for players to help improve on the product we want.
I don't agree with their business strategy, but the fact remains... This is how they do business. Keep customers in the dark.
