here is the info on the ps3.. I really don't see whySWG wouldn't play on it.. considering some people play on pc's that aren't even this good..

Yes it is true that SWG will be on the PS3 and yes this is why the game is being dumbed down so that it can be cross platforms. It is ashame really. If they wanted to make a PS3 console game for the kiddies they should have made a completely different game. Cross platform games are never as good as there is not nearly the depth on PS games as there are in PC games.

that's what I was thinking.. why not make a different version off of swg.. and call it swg for ps3 lol and let us have a game we liked.. of course cu sucked.. and cu2 sucks even more... it might be all exciting cause of the role playing there adding but I see if getting old fast.. and making ever one the same.. meaning making all jedi the same.. all bh the same.. no uniqueness... just all clones of each other the game may not make it to launch of ps3 lol

Yeah just look at the new combat system. It is a perfect fit for the PS3 in that it can be played with a controller instead of a mouse. Also if they were going to screw the old Jedi like this they should have just taken Jedi out of the game completely instead. If you are going to give the game a complete facelift then at least make the timeline of the game make sense. Instead now we are going to have 90%+ of the player base as a Jedi. Just when you think you have seen it all SOE and LA pull something like this out of their asses.

All I got to say is every one I know in game is talking aboutwhat game they are going to next.. they are waiting till this hits live, try it for a few days and if it sucks they are out of here.. and that leave me alone... so with that being said I have been looking in to D&D online... if every one I know bails.. I am out of here too.. I am tired of all the crap they are puling.. maybe after a year they will get the hint... if every one bails... and as far as consol games go.. every one knows they are all ok for a little bit but kids change games fast..

the ps3 CPU is a lot more than just ghz rating . .. it was co-developed by IBM/toshiba ... and has the most advanced tech seen in a CPU to date ( which isnt classified or government tech)
it contains 7-9 SPE's which are bascially superpowered FPU's and are very similar to seperate cores .. meaning the thing is comparable to a 7-9 core chip ...
it already is being pushed by IBM and worked on to be made available in server boxes soon .. and thats just the CPU .. the graphcis chips itself are a lot more advanced than any GPU you will see within a PC ... they are using the latest NV core which comes with ALL the bells and whistles and utilizes tech not even being used in software yet ... the vmem is probably going to be GDDR 4 or 5 and the sys mem XDR ( the latest from rambus) ...so yea these ps3 boxes are monsters ...
been a while since i read any spec sheets .. few months actually .. if anything has changed or updated feel free to correct me

So expect games to suck really bad for 4~5 years while coders get used to the new uber hardware potential?
