From what i originally thought was ranged defense adds defense to your character against ranged weapons. melee defense help protect you against melee attacks. Ok heres my question- whats the difference? i ve read on these forums that ranged defense does nothing to help you. The way i understand it as it adds defense if you are holding a ranged weapon. jedi obviously dont use ranged weapons. being we are melee, melee defense 4 is the way to go.Now i was looking at my skill sheet and the defintion of ranged defense is the harder it will be to hit you by a person using a ranged weapon and vice versa with melee. Whats the real deal? im in the middle of dumping all ranged defense to put the sp into other stuff. someone let me know now if this is wise

It doesn't. The x4xx defender line is useless now except for the innate armor.

If you want the MOST ranged defense without going MDef you need xxx4 defender.
