Thread: The 1.5 definition
Tbh a fully templated knight should be 1.5x stronger.........
As you advance through the FRS you should get extra bonuses allowing you to be about 2.5x stronger at MASTER. Increases by a bit as you go up the ranks.
A full jedi master should at least be able to take on 5 CL80 toons period..... a full knight 2 maybe 3 if your a decent pvper.
This is not overpowered or anything like that im not complaining about our situation now (theres no point) but tbh Jedi are supposed to be feared/hunted BECAUSE they are above everyone else......
And where the hell did LS vun go off armour ![]()

Ok, just to clear one thing...
I read all kind of what the 1.5x stand for. I'm to lazy to find the document but it clearly state that a fully templated jedi (padawan) is to be 1.5x stronger as a double mastery combat template (a non-jedi CL80 toon).
Is that clear now?
There is not to be compared to a single master prof
Any FRS mods are to be ontop of the fully templated padawan. So anyone saying a KNIGHT will be 1.5x stronger and a padawan should be equal to a regular player is wrong.
Just read a bunch of threads where ppl having all kind of definitions on the 1-5....
Well if you want to get technical, I've never seen a Dev post on what the power level of Jedi should be. Maybe some devs said it at one of the conventions but I'm sure there is nothing on the forums that will state (by a dev) that a Padawan is supposed to be 1.5X stronger.
You've had Correspondents come in and say that devs have told them that was the "intended" powerlevel but TBH I think that was more of a goal than reality. IMO devs changed their minds a few weeks into the CURB. Doesn't that sound familiar, don't you remember the whole "Jedi will have robes but they will be as good as normal armor"....again goal not reality. Jedi is clearly not 1.5X stronger in any shape way or form as a completed Padawan. That is by design specially when BH's are supposed to be attacking 1vs1.
A Knight has been rumored to be more powerful but no one has any idea of what the FRS will mean to Jedi. For all we know it could just be something that keeps us grinding for a title, we just don't know. The previous FRS mods are in the past, I'd expect there to be a lot of changes since the old FRS mods were based off a completely different combat system.

I hear about this question all the time, and I do start to wonder why it hasn't been broken down much any more. Let me explain why.
I chose MDEF MLS ENH0002 HE3000 a long long time ago, about a day after the CU hit....so no accusations of being FOTM
I wanted this template because the it's as close as damnit to the Mace Windu ideal. A hard a55ed jedi, with no flashy additions but the power to take on enemies with no hint of fear for his own safety. MDEF has always been the most complete of the jedi disciplines, with strengths and weaknesses which we all know about. I also wanted to be a fierce fighter, and testing out 0404 LS against MLS with respecs (instead of using it to get more boxes like many did) I decided that I wouldn't give it up. The power and speed seemed to match my aspirations.
The day I finished my template, I decided I had hidden in the wilds long enough; I headed back to town where a group of friends were hanging about having a few fights. Being completely new to JVJ duels, I thought I'd get some practise in. With very little experience of the details of my template, I took down 2 full template pre CU knights in my first 3 matches. I ended up calling it a draw on a pre 9 knight whom I was matching force for force ![]()
The only benefit I had over them? They were all now dabblers, I was dual mastery. The extra defences and offences meant that my template really shone when compared to players who had chosen dabbler templates in order to get the juicy cloak, force run and stasis skills.
The point of all this? It seems that many players have forgotten about how the post CU skill trees are intended to work. All professions, including jedi, are now designed to have a series of inter-operable skills within the 4444 branches. Only when we achieve mastery do we gain the "creme de la creme" skills. Take pistoleer for example. It's good skills lie in the 4444 skills; stopping shot, the intimdate shot....but the tasty fastdraw skill (criminally underused IMHO) lies at the master box. The same with jedi. MDEF has it's AI, Enhancer has it's Stasis, MLS has it's insane general melee benefits along with the top tier bonuses.
I hate hearing guys moan about the problems they have in PVP, and then it turns out they only have 1 jedi mastery, usually MDEF or Enhancer. Nobody is going to dominate in PVP using only stasis or AI. In collecting all the funky jedi stuff by grabbing bits from the other trees, they are missing out on the bigger picture....
I consider myself to be 1.5x the templates of most other players I meet. I miss out on force run for getting through mydril quickly, but those who laugh at me to keep up would be toast without me tanking NK for them at the end. Those who laugh when they run and cloak will be the ones slain at my feet when they can't cloak during base attacks because of the limitations that skill carries.
So yes, I believe thatSOME jedi are 1.5x other professions, but only if they CHOOSE to be ![]()

the reason why people are becoming confused about being 1.5 times more powerful is because of their sabers being below par,or they're powers being below par, before i managed to get a nice saber i certainly didnt feel 1.5 times more powerful than anyone, now i rip through people in 30 seconds, these are the same people who used to beat me,give powers a boost and get prems back in game and you'll certainly feel more powerful than a nonjedi toon
A person with 8k Recon armor with AB resists, CM 4xxx makes high powered sabers not as uber as you think they are. Only times a Jedi can even consider the tight max/min damage an advantage is if the Jedi has high defenses himself (meaning he has to have almost all of defender or be Master).

A 700 damage saber does not make you 1.5 times powerful. Fighting people with lesser equipment however does. My BH can hit just below my Jedi in PvP. My saber is 609-709 max and my BH has a 645-1325 Rifle. Sure my rifle damage comes out slightly below in damage but I have better armor, healing, and the ability to fire from a superior position as a Ranged BH.
We are not, I repeat are not designed to be 1.5 times powerful than non-Jedi as a Padawan. Devs have made this clear through nerfs and continue to announce future nerfs incase we are hard of hearing.
you just proved my point, you hit less and do less damagewith your BH,BH/MCM are considered to be the top of the food chain as far as non jedi toons go and by your own admission your jedi hits harder and does more damage faster, whether that works out to be 1.5 times stronger is anyones guess, but jedi with good equipment are certainly stronger than non combat toons

Your problem is you are measuring power by the damage you can dish out. Well consider that the player can Heal everything you throw at them. You have to also consider you are a melee profession with limited range. Yes good PvPers can overcome that BUT when you are dealing with someone who is equally talented in skills you will not win in today's combat. People can go on and on, but face the facts a player can absorb the damage a saber does because Healing is just that good now.
Today's combat resides in the ability to outlast one's opponent when you are dealing with MDefenders. This myth that we are somehow better than even a regular melee toon is funny. Have you even considered that we are less than 1 against a normal melee toon? Look at the facts, they can have the same defenses....scratch that they can have BETTER defenses with AB resist armor. They will do more damage than you because of that while at the same time having Doc 4xxx will outheal anything you throw at them. If I was going to go by your definition of what gives 1.5X power, Melee toons with the right equipment are actually more powerful than Jedi.
btw, when I said my BH is outdamaged by my BH it's like by 100 points or less. So you are essentially saying 100 extra damage is equal to 1.5X as powerful (keep in mind the Jedi in question needs to have Defender for this to even be considered.....a Jedi without defender will get hammered much more hence according to you no 1.5X powerful).

I mean a jedi with all skill points used........
Ranking means nothing atm anyway and the difference between a fully fledged knight and a padawan at knight level is a really really hard to find Graul mauderer
