Thread: GUIDE VERY important info about what you need to do before NGE goes live.(EDITED)
EDIT: changed some wording to not offend the carebears and for clarity. also updated the tuning process.
Since MsNIL is a carebear jedi (no offense, but it is true), I thought I would give my 2 cents about the NGE and correct some of her mistakes.
Also, the following is coming from a Pure pvpjedi.PreCU I pvped at least 4-6hrs a day mostly solo hunting for FRS. Btw, I HATE quests.
The Following is taken from MSNIL's guide. My corrections are in yellow. Changes in Blue.
Q. Are 1h/2h/DB different?
Msnil - No.
Luscio - My experience is that they are slightly different with polearm being a point or two more damaging. Others have different experiences.
About the robes...
Msnil -The quest is broken. I couldnt get them.
Luscio - Elaboration = #1 head to obi's hizi. It says to go into the tent, and look in the wardrobe, but there is no wardrobe in the tent.
What about the pearls?
Msnil - Converted randomly... mine are around 5-10 min 5-10 max. Players with flawless pearls have received very different results. I havnt tried to tune any... and krayts hit me for 5-6000 damage so I couldnt really see if there where any dropping.
Luscio -Myexperience is they did not tuned randomlyFair = 3min/4max, Good = 5/6, Quality = 7/8, Premium = 8/9, and Flawless = 10/14. I tuned some and got these results, as well as, the pearls/crystals in my saber converted accordingly to what they were named before I tuned them. HOWEVER, many others still report random tuning.
I am not gonna tell you my exact experience since I think NGE should be a surpise for everyone. Very exciting suprise. Here is my advice.
- Craft 2nd, 3rd and 4th gen sabers for ALL sabers. Ie. polearm, 2handed, 1handed. Once again a pre-NGE saber will be better then anything you can craft post-NGE. This was my experience as well as several others. I crafted for 30 min in the NGE to test everything. There is no speed or SAC so experiment 100% on damage.
- Here is my theory about saber/pearl conversion. Because tuning will no longer be random, they are gonna have pity on all the pre-NGE jedi that made perfect sabers from premium pearls/crystals. The following is my evidence. Pre-NGE sabers have the same stats when you have pearls in them as when you take them out; however, all pearls/crystals must be inside the saber for them to be usable. What does this mean you ask? Well, it means that if you have a perfect or near perfect saber pre-NGE you will still have a perfect/near perfect saber when it goes live. I am guessing the pearls have to be in the saber when NGE converts everything to get this advantage.
- I use a NOSTROMO gampad (N52)by Belkin that comes with a program that allows you to map keyboard keysto buttons on the gamepad. I strongly suggest you get one of these. It will make combat much more enjoying. I would quit if I had to learn to play with a keyboard the way SOE is forcing everyone else to. MSNIL says this is cheating, but I'll risk it considering I developed carpal tunnel syndrome in my wrist from the 27 prof's I mastered to get jedi. They bann my acct, I sue. hehe.
Some odd things I noticed.
- The was no force lightening. Unless this is given between lvls 80-90 I will be very pissed.
- Force Choke lacked all animations. Very weak imo.
- On my screen I couldnt see my HAM. Other players did not have this problem, guess I was the lucky one that was bugged.
All and all, the pvp element remains unseen. IMO, it will be the deciding factor. Btw SOE, I will not wait forever. The carebears got their wish and now this game is everything they wanted. Pisses me off to no end, but I am not throwing in the towel just yet.

- Day 1 of the NGE announcement she was posting on the BH forums rubbing it in.
- She has always been in favor of pve jedi and asked to be "freed" from forced pvp.
On another note Luscio you actually gonna stick around? The new system is lame and boring, buy City of Villians

Although I agree that this guys attitude is very un-jedi like, and more then annoying, I do take exception to being lumped in with him. I'm old school, and that does not mean PvP and W=W, us who were first on the path to Jedi were role-players and questers. I rarely fool with PvP, and found the FRS an abomination. Please don't lump my with this fool.
