VI. Profession-Specific
*Please note that the following profession-specific questions are pulled directly from the community. Not all professions are currently included as not all professions have had questions asked in regards to them.
1. Jedi
What's happening to my Jedi character?
Jedi will be able to choose any of the nine iconic new professions, including the Jedi profession. Regardless of a veteran Jedi's (existing active Jedi characters prior to the introduction of the game enhancements) re-spec choice the character will gain items and abilities that will represent the original accomplishments achieved by that character. These include specifically, the ability to take on the transparent Blue form of an ascended Jedi, a special Robe that is endowed with protective properties, and an exclusive new lightsaber crystal with a unique color that deals more damage. All of these new items are being given to existing Jedi characters in recognition for their past achievements.
Will crystals and pearls still be used in lightsabers?
Yes, you will still be able to use crystals and pearls to upgrade lightsabers.
Will I still have to go to the Force Sensitive Village to be Force Sensitive?
No. Being a Jedi character will no longer require you to complete the Force Sensitive Village series of quests. There will be quests and adventures created specifically for the Jedi path that you will need to pursue in order to progress on the Jedi path.
Do you still plan to have a Force Ranking System?
Not at this time.
Will Jedi still require Weapon Crafting Stations to craft the hilts of their lightsabers?
Jedi will be able to craft their Lightsaber hilts without a crafting station of any kind.
When Multiple Characters per Server are available, will current Jedi who have two character slots be allowed to have three characters?
When this feature is introduced, every account will be granted two character slots per server/galaxy (8 total characters max) regardless of profession/class.
Will you be making any additional changes to the Jedi Profession?

FAQ: (Jedi Related)
Can anyone become a Jedi?
Yes, anyone can follow the path of the Jedi but like all professions mastery will require time and experience. The new Jedi profession will be equal in combat effectiveness with the other professions. It will still however deliver on the promise of the Star Wars Jedi mystique and will allow players to “live” as Jedi in the world of Star Wars Galaxies.

Will we still be able to mix and match skills?
No, this is explained in the FAQ
According to the FAQ for NGE, it sounds if ALL Jedi, regardless of CL that unlocked prior to these changes going in will be considered Elder Jedi and get the rewards. Is this true or are some of the posts from various Correspondents that you need to be a CL 80 Jedi true? If it is CL 80, is this CL 80 of Jedi skills or just an unlocked Jedi that is CL such as 2 Mastered Elites with 1 Novice Jedi skill box.

For those who have gone through and gotten partway through the Force Sensitive Village (FSV), how will their re-spec points be allocated?
The FS village has been removed and Jedi have been included as an iconic profession, so progress in the FS village will not have an impact on the re-spec.
As Jedi seem to have more points vested than other players, will those players who were high level Jedi get more re-spec points?
Re-spec is based on combat level (or Skill Point usage in the case of Entertainers and Traders), but we do have some other great incentives for veteran Jedi in recognition of their efforts.
What is happening to the FS Village?
The FS village will be removed with NGE.
Will my existing respec token I still have go poof or will it get added to the 10 new respecs?
They will be removed and the 10 new respec's will be assigned to your character including 1 respec that you will be forced to do at first log in. So 11 respec's total.

Q: Do you still plan to have a Force Ranking System?
A: Not at this time.
Q: Will Bounty Hunter missions and other missions still be located on my datapad?
A: Yes, you will still see mission terminal quests on your datapad. However, there will no longer be Bounty Hunter missions that target other players, they are only NPC based going forward, and these will appear in your Quest Journal.
Awesome....
/sarcasm off
Well all I can say they finally killed off the Jedi profession as something to be proud of attaining. What gets me is that last bit, don't they realise that before people in the Star Wars universe Jedi are the top of the pile they where not equal with other combat professions, they ate them for breakfast.
I do hope those are not the only specials Jedi have because they really suck.
