Thread: To those who hate NGE...

I read a whole lot of negative feedback for this new system. I love the new combat enhancments and attempt to fix professions. I can understand why those are upset. People who are in love with professions like creature handler, combat medic, doctor and any melee profession woukd be upset. The thing is though STAR WARS DOES NOT EXSIST IN A MELEE UNIVERSE. Use common sense here, who would win in a fight, a guy with a loaded gun or a sword? Second, People who are in the same boat as Creature Handlers have a good reason to be upset. Maybe it wont be gone forever, things like CH droid engineer, weopon crafting should be subclasses( Maybe they allready are, have not heard much about it). Finally, jedi. OH yes there are some problems here. The devs should have done the following:


Jedi should still be lockable profession (except, the onlyway to become jedi, you must have a CL 90 character)

Two slots per server? Thats better but still a rip, upgrade to six SOE!! or at least give vets a third slot

I like the skill tree for jedi but force lightning is not on there?

Fix the economy!! (in this process you can help people who paid for a5 mill item but then became worthless after a publish

Give vet jedi and FC unlockers better rewards, we have told you this till our ears bled!!

If Stars Wars doesn't have melee then why was Jabba's sail barge full of pikemen ? When Lando entered Jabba's palace in disquise he was carrying a long vibro axe.


Melee was part of Star Wars, TK is part of SW lore. It's just the movies portray gun fighting because it was more exciting to watch. In MMORPG you need to break some rules of universe or you end-up where NGE is. Thats everyone the same.

If you decide to leave this game due to the lack of customer loyalty, continue to show them how big an impact it has made and stop purchasing any sony products. Over time they will realize that their customers should have been more important as they will lose millions.

SOE believes in money, blindly we give it to them and unthankfully they take it. We pay them to play a Beta game and get screwed with no lube, they do however use sand while doing it

melee = the basics of any combat. even if you're trained to use a rifle.

That is true, but melee isnt completly removed from the game. smugglers, BHs will use melee as well as other professions. Im just saying specific melee professions like pikeman dont really fit in. With all the major fights do you ever a see a stormtrooper with a pike running into battle? No because he would get killed. Agreed that some rules can be broken but melee should be a subclass, a close quarter use. Not and open "I run at the ranged guy and kill him ha ha ha" TK im sad will be taken out. I have allot respect for that profession and am sad to see it go, hopfully in the future SOE will bring it back in a new fashion but for now i guess its going away

There isn't 10,000 Jedi in Star Wars Either, let along between A New Hope and the Empire Strikes Back.
