Are we grandfathered? Do post-NGE players get a free character when they finish their jedi? Has anyone heard anything official on this?

New FS who reach Jedi do.

No doubt all subject to change.

yeah this is pissing me off greatly, i have been doing the FS quests in the village to not get jedi but get my alt. from all that i've ready even if i grind the new way i still wont get teh free character slot. THANKS SOE/LA

Where did you read this? I'm checking the FAQ again (updated?)

It's in the FAQ or certainly one of the posts tigs has answered. Click on tiggs name and then find all posts by user. There's lots of question she's answered in there.

The only thing I'm not 100% sure about is that new Jedi who start from scratch get an unlock. This dont make any sense to me.

The other two I know are fact and have verified.
