A Couple of years ago I worked real hard and got a Rolls-Royce. I polished that baby every day I was so proud of her, every single day sometimes for a few hours sometimes for more. I was sold this Rolls-Royce on the fact that it was prestigious and as such could not be bettered and boy it was.
Then a few months ago the salesman came to my door and told me that "the item that I'd paid for was not intended to be so prestige" so swapped it for a Ford. Now I'm no snob but I kind of liked being prestigious as I think we all do. I mean it was ok I liked it but I wasn't really what I was sold. And I never really wanted a Ford thats why I worked so hard.
Wouldn't you know recentlythat salesman returned with a pushbike with a flat tyre, rusty spokes and no seat....now this Im gonna have to see about. It took me nearly 18 months topay for the Rolls-Royce but I could have got this pigging bikein 2 days.

Excellent post, and really does say a lot. If you remove Jedi from the equasion, this is exactly what has happened

Nice analogy of the Jedi for the Bike , unfortunalely , withthe Current system in place its going to happen, I will listen for the Door when the salesman gets here , my Sweet Ride left along time ago.

I was smart I cashed out before it got worse. Right after the CU I sold my Jedi. Jedi used to be special. It's a joke now. :-)

Problem is that people with Rolls-Royces rarely actually work hard. In fact moving up the pay scale enough to afford that car normally means more time on the golf-course and less actually working.
In the same way jedi have this idea that it was some how hard to become one, it never has been hard. Its been "harder" but thats not the same thing. And it clearly takes more time than any other profession. But is it hard because its an alpha class? I never really bought that as the reason. I think the reason it was harder than other proffs was to limit the numbers, make it a starting class and 90% of people are jedi. Even with increased jedi now I doubt more than 20% are jedi on any one server (and every jedi brings a non-jedi alt too).
"How do you know I did not kill a jedi and take his lightsaber?"
"Jedi's can't be killed!"
"If onlythat were true"
Stop speaking like a 12 year old darth vader, and learn from the wisdom of a great jedi knight, days from his death.

I was told at the time by the main SOE site that I could wait for it "Swathe through normal professions" so if that's not implying that were were not meant to be a Alpha Class then we have certainly been mis-advertised too.
