Thread: Powers vs Enhancer::Working as intended?

I have a question for all of you:

I just hit Mpowers last night. One of my guildies wanted to practice some PvP so we dueled. First time I owned him, too much burst dps.

However, second time, it went like this:

me: cloak

me: choke

me: adv. knockdown

me: armor break

me: power attack

him: stand/1500 heal

--this is where my question comes in

him: force feedback

And then it hit the fan so to speak. My health was dropping like a rock, he dervished for the win.

I checked my combat logs and noticed I was choking myself. My choke was ticking on him for 441 a tick, so it was on me for 441 a tick. However, I thought as long as he did not have feedback on during the attack it wouldn't be refelcted back at me. If this is working as intended, choke becomes a reliability to me and unusable against enhancers as all they have to do is wait for the choke and then turn on feedback.

Also, He is 4/1/0/4 enhancer on his way to mEnh. If this is only a tier one box and it reflected back 100% dmg that I was doing to him, how much does imp. feedback throw back at me?

Any help on this issue? I thought that was the great thing about breach, if they have feedback, breach/choke. Guess this is not the case.

Mpowers here.

Yes working as intende. You can notice than when choke ticks the combat message is : "xxxx use the Force to constrict" yyyy etc etc.

That is to say, when choke ticks you use the Force, so if the enemy have Force Feedback on you get same damage.

Is this fair? I would say its not so fair for Mpowers jedi, but it is fair according to game mechanics

I'm MLS/MEh and yes... that is how it is intended as of right now (before someone else starts crying nerf.. heh)

Its a massive ability for MEh. There is really no offensive moves in the Enhancer branch. Just defensive and running abilities. Feedback is our only damaging skill as Meh, other than Drain.. and it doesn't do damage.. just pulls force and is practically useless right now.

Thanks for the post.

However, what about imp feedback, if normal feedback is refelecting 100% does imp feedback refelct more? I've never been an enhancer so I'm not sure.

This is bad news as choke is my first strike out of cloak ... I'll just cross my fingers that the guy isn't a mEnh I guess.

**edit** NOOBIE!!!

Just playin, this is the jedi Ecuto was duelin. The enhancer def did make choke a liability to use if or when i was ready for it, but id say that prob plays towards a large system of checks and balances... and i had to be ready for it with my finger on the force feedback key. Now cloak, breakin combat at will to attack again fully healed and at the MP jedi's whim.... that one i think may have some balance issues. Unless theres some restrictions or weaknesses to cloak that we havent found yet, any ideas there anyone.

And don't worry Goldn, I won't cry nerf. Feedback is a great ability. I would normally try to breach it before using powers. This works fine for most power moves as they are not DOT. However, I do not like the way feedback handles choke. It just doesn't seem right to me.

Choke will continue to tick against yourself for the duration of the effect, regardless of whether or not your opponent still has Force Feedback active or not.

Logic would dictate that the DoT effect of Choke is brought about by you constantly focusing your thoughts/Force on maintaining a choke on your opponent. However, the reality as far as SWG is concerned is that as soon as the Choke debuff is applied (and Feedback reflects it to you), it will continue to behave like this until it runs out.
