From a immersion point of view, it never made sense to me that different styles of saber would have different damage output. I mean, a lightsaber blade is a lightsaber blade, right? Shouldn't much matter what hilt it comes from or how hard you swing it; if it touches something, it disintegrates it.
From a gameplay point of view, I'd have liked to have seen the differences on the styles come from speed and range. As in, double-bladed giving a larger range of use, one handed giving a speed advantage, and two handed being the median between the two.
