This is a repost. I just believe this could really help the game. I'm proud of myself for not putting "Dev please read" in the title (I emailed one instead )

Summary: An idea to bring back pearls, remove Jedi from the GCW on a general basis, bring back the FRS, avoid balance issues involving the FRS overpowering jedi in pvp and pve, avoiding the need for seperate content, or future content being undoable by regular professions.

Bold of me, don't you think?

(Idea 6)

"Illiahnus is a remote planet, recently discovered by Imperial Inquisitor Agents. These Inquisitors, answering directly to Lord Vader have informed the Sith Lord that the planet is exceptionally stong with the Force. It is possible the planet was created by the Force itself.

The Emperor does not know of Illiahnus's existance and Vader wishes to keep it that way. But, someone else knows it's there... Secretly Lord Vader began landing troops to secure the world and learn all he could, but shortly after the first troops arrived they were wiped out. It didn't take long to realise Force Sensitives - already drawn from hiding by the Alliance victory against the Death Star - have now been drawn to the world. Jedi in the making, without benefit of expereinced trainers, but potent nonetheless. Vader had no choice but to send in dark jedi to fight them.

A gurrelia war has begun on Illiahnus. The two sides are continuously hunting each other, calling in bounty hunters to aid them as the adundence of the Force on the planet, while imbuing the jedi with great power, makes it difficult for them to sense each other. The planet calls new blood to its surface almost daily. Only time will tell who will prevail. Secretly Lord Vader watches to see if a champion will emerge, an apprentice to stand with him and overthrow the Emperor..."

Anyone can travel to the planet. Everyone landing on the surface would be turned overt. The FRS would function only on this planet. If a player becomes the Dark Jedi Overlord he would be free to leave the planet and go to Corellia, but he would have none of his Force Rank priveledges and would not be overt. On returning to Illiahnus he would once again ressume his duties as Overlord. While off-world deaths and kills would not count toward Force Rank, however, ranking would still be lost in order to avoid situations where the Overlord never returns to Illiahnus solely so he can keep his position.

There will be enclaves, temple ruins, quests, pve events (for jedi related loot). But this is a jedi pvp world primarily say 2k by 2k, but with room for extensions.

I have a very clear view of this world and what it entails, including a "Capture the Flag" system that would benefit the Ranking system in some fashion (as would the quests). But most pertinently creatures to kill to acquire crystals equal to premiums and flawless pearls. This would be done in groups in instanced dungeons to avoid ganking - except for the flawless pearl drop which would be on a focal creature that is open to be killed by anyone. I would like to see many wars fought over this creature...

What does this acheive?

Jedi removed from regular PvP. Jedi can gain great power without dominating the rest of the game, avoiding terrible issues of player balance and future content being Jedi only, or unchallenging to jedi. They would be able to duck out of the power struggle as they choose but return at the same level they left, give or take.

Jedi will, hopefully disappear from the regular game for the most part, except at times of new expansions. The timeline is therefore preserved - there are no jedi in the movies because they are engaged in a private war to secure a Force Sensitive Planet.

Negatives:

Alot of work - Jedi centric. Although anyone could go there and run the events they would be aimed at the higher powered jedi, who would be greatly overpowered vs regular players who would be forced overt on landing.

I don't see the point in detailing the quests, npcs, mobs and planet appearance at this point, or at all.

Enjoy.
