I have been doin some testing with my master defender regarding the new AI changes. So to do some isolated tests I chose the ground corvette mission.
Test #1
Up on the Corvette I aggro'd a bunch of mobs and then hit AI (this was tested MULTIPLE TIMES). Immediatly after I hit AI an interesting thing happened (I was solo btw) all of the mobs went on an aggro/de-aggro attack cycle. Meaning they did not retreat and did not stop attacking. Every two seconds the mobs would deaggro (music would stop and saber would withdraw) then they would hit me again. Eventually I was incapped from lack of force and was killed.
Please note that I was NOT attacking any one of them
Test #2
Same thing for second round except this time I decided to try and keep attacking. Exactly the same occurance regarding the aggro and deaggro occurred as before, except now on the one I was damaging every time it would deaggro it would heal for about 1-2k damage before I could hit it again.
Test #3
I brought a friend this time. Aggro'd mobs, then when I hit AI they are broke attack and hit my friend and killed him, then proceeded to attack like in test 1 and 2.
Conclusion
This new version of Avoid Incap is all but useless it seems now. It cannot be used for tanking even in the slightest, and is a peril to use with groupmates. The NPC mobs will NOT deaggro you when it is used. From the description when implemented in beta I was under the assumption that they would "move on" as if you had been incapped. I hope someone from the higher-ups can please shed some much needed light on the situation because as of right now this skill is undeserving at the master box level. Thank you for your time.

I will be doing more tests over the next week as we know the devs like to tweak things secretly.

No its not, it was stated in beta that the mobs would break off attack, not break off attack and then attack again not giving you a chance to defeat them. It defeats ANY purpose of Avoid Incap.
