Thread: Would you have bought SWG if there were no jedi?

Heck yeah i would have when i bought this game it was to be a riflemen and kill a bunch of gurks. And noting but that for three months, lol. I stayed a riflemen for over a year and after mastering all the other combat professions and some of the crafters and doing the majority of the quest i decided pretty much all that was left for me was to go jedi. That and i wanted the free alt.

Yes I would have bought it and did, also before jedi I added a second account, forst was TKM/Doc, didn't want to give up these skills but also looked in awe as Melee stackers wasted high levels mobs solo so I made a stacker also. All I hear is how Jedi haev ruined or imbalanced this game, BS. Pre CU had 17 guildies and I fighting Krayts in teh graveyard, got it below 1/2 almost to 1/3 and a SOLO CM comes and poisons this same Krayt that we as a group haev been working on and he gets the kill. That was unbalanced, mind fire pikes were unbalancing. Pre CU melee stackers were better then Jedi precu and were everywhere, now people complain about Jedi being everywhere but there are still plenty of professions out there that can solo way more stuff then Jedi. On the plus side, once teh knight trials start I think we will see an entirely different game with jedi. permovert jedi will be getting attacked like crazy, GCW will be in full swing and there will be excitment in the game again. Gank ksquads will be running around looking for small or lone Overts, teh fun we will be having soon.

If you decide to leave this game due to the lack of customer loyalty, continue to show them how big an impact it has made and stop purchasing any sony products. Over time they will realize that their customers should have been more important as they will lose millions.

well umm I did there was no jedi in the game when i got it Unlocked march 04..there was like only 20 jedi on the server ..good old days...

I bought it way back when before i even knew jedi would be in it. I was amazed when i heard there was a jedi on my server and I was good pals with him until he finally gave in and sold his acct. that was a truly sad day, havent heard from him in ages. I started this game as an Architect, wow what a change i have made.

YES.

But playing with Jedi has made me change my opinion. Not that i want to be one, just that I can't wait to kill them.

In short, no I would not have even given this game a second thought if there were no jedi. From day one, this was the goal of my character, and through 30 professions of hard work, I got it. Nothing else in this game kept my interest,I rped here and there but generally found as time went on, the world became less and less starwarsy. Everyone is bunched into the mos eisley cantina on starsider now, you'd be lucky to see any players anywhere else.


Adding new planets and stuff is rather dumb, they should make the existing ones worth visiting again. I got off topic there for a second, but to answer the second question, I only reactivated to test the NGE. It'd be worth if only to see my jedi swing her saber faster than an 80 year old with arthritis.
