Thread: Why no-shadow on cloak is bad

This morning I overheard a conversation and don't ask me why they weren't in /tell instead but one Jedi was showing off about cloaking and running to a group of grinding Jedi that weren't interested in gaining visibility and thinking it was funny. Problem with cloaking now is that you cannot see the shadow and suspect someone being there, you cloak and go there and follow the person you want to get on the terms with. What things can be done to avoid this, I think having your own guild group grind in your own home town is one of the best solutions since around mining outpost you'll get a lot of traffic anyways but I don't have that option since my guild is rather small.

It is bad enough that a full template non Jedi comes to our group location and stands there expecting to get invited or just wants to piss someone off, I don't want to be rude and tell them to get lost but I'm pretty sure in the past week I have gained just enough visibility to not bother logging in for a few weeks, I'm interested in changing my alt's template anyways.

the real problem is the whole jedi and bounty hunter conflict in my opinion. As long as it remains in the game people will find ways to "grief" other players and think its funny to messwith other people's game play. As well as the constant scream that every game mechanic to gain advantage over another is an exploit. And that every aspect of both professions need to be nurfed. Then again others will agrue that its not griefing and when you unlocked jedi thats what you signed up for is getting bullied and messed with. Others will also argue that nothing is an exploit and its all just good tactics. And others will scream that every aspect of both professions needs to be un-nerfed. Sound about right? I really dont agree or disagree with either side right now having been on both sides of the fence. I only agree that the jedi vs bh pvp should just be scrapped or that both professions should be taken out of the game as they are the only two professions that apear to cause everyone else problems. Oh andwe are they whinniest group of players around.

Too often players and the devs have a mindset that professions should be balanced with 1 on 1 pvp in mind. This mindset is ruining the game. The benchmark for balance should be determined by the role a profession plays in a group setting. As long as the current mindset continues we will never see uniqueness among the professions, nor will we ever see individuality within a given profession. We will never see the SWG universe expanded as the focus will only ever be balance pass after balance pass after balance pass.
