what surprises me is that they can have the servers down for this long when they're only putting a hotfix into the game,its an absolute joke and shows major incompetence on SOE's part

If you look at the notes on this release, they changes 4-5 things (which is not much) and yet, this takes longer than anything else to install.

You know what I think, they are getting a system message error that looks like this :

Cannot start the server while server not running

or

Cannot power up server while server not powered up

yeah I take it something else is going on apart from this hotfix. Seems an awfull lot of downtime for a few small changes.
