Thread: Hey! Pimp my Sig! Guide
Allrighty, so you wanna pimp your sig with those hot new images that are imbeded in the names, letters, numbers, whatever-
Heres the first thing, you need a picture that will be pretty small or non detailish in order for your pic to come out well. I have one posted on page 3 of this thread but that is WAY TOO BIG - and I will explain that in a sec.
Ok, You find that pic yet? Good. Hop on over to this website using IE http://www.text-image.com/
Read up on what the website actually is and how it works. When you convert your pic it has to be small resolution. Why? Cause your Sig can only hold 6,000 characters and guess what? Each charcter you color in, costs you around 20 charcters (in HTML) so if there was just a line that was 2 characters in heigth and 50 characters long, that jus costed you 2,000 characters! Yah, kinda stinky. So when u use the converter, try normal or higher fontsize and keep the width to about 10-15 characters long.
Ok after you find something that converts well, you need to snag the HTML source code (Kinda like myspace.) Go to VIEW then click on SOURCE. A notepad document will open with the source. The webmaster made it easy to find your pics code and is marked PICTURE STARTS HERE and PICTURE ENDS HERE. You want to COPY all the stuff in between.
Then come back to an SWG post and click REPLY. On your text input box click on EDIT AS HTML. Then PASTE the code you got off the website. Then Click preview post. If it comes up and there is no red error message, you are almost there!!! View the source code of the page and find your new HTML code that the forums cleaned up for you.
Go to your forum profile and go to preferences. Uncheck box marked WYSIWYG and go back to your profile where you can input your sig. Paste the Forum modified HTML code into the sig box and save that puppy out. BLAM! Your sig has been pimped. Now, about your gimped toon, I can't help you there. Go be a BH/CM and pwn noob Jedi.
Aight, I will find my pic and post shortly. If someone has an easier way of converting the html code, PM me so I can update this post.
