Thread: PSGs.... What PSG do you use?

Yeah ok so Im a Noob. I dont use PSGs yet. Ive been out of the loop on those for a while. Are there still differnt kinds and what not? if so what do most of you more experienced Jedi find to work the best?
Also, I totally forget, but what Slot does a PSG use up on your OutFit? i.e. ... Belt Location, Bando Location etc. or is it a spot allof its own?
just figured that I'd add, Ive managed to do quite well against BHerssince I finished my Template, even with out PSGs... So Im wondering how much the PSG will help out.

Belt slot. and I use a 2700 one, works very well. a couple fights with good ranged and you need to replace it though.

The PSG fits the belt slot.
To my knowledge, you can only experiment PSGs on energy RANGED effectiveness and/or possibly condition. It will not block kinetic nor melee energy damage.
W/ that said, the Imperial Prototype PSGs grant +10 to General Ranged/Melee Accuracy, but are somewhat harder to get because they are a 1-3 use per schematic, so basically you're going to pay a lot for them and/or have to get them special ordered by providing the schematic. Also, because it takes the belt slot, many players have modded belts and don't use PSGs for that very same reason; not to mention the decay on Armor/PSGs is really bad and will wear out (don't think you can ADK PSGs anymore).
So overall, 2 types of PSGs, 1 w/ mods, 1 w/out. Both grant the same resists if you get them from a quality crafter (1.8k-2.4k ish resists I believe). For more detailed information and more precise data/information (because I don't really know the particulars) refer to the Armorsmith forum stickies.

oh and FYI - even when the thing decays to 0, it still works, but you didnt hear that from me =P

Is it worth ADK'ing a good PSG?
The main reason I don't use PSGs is because it decays so fast.

I use a 2300 energy resist 65 recharge rate PSG I could get a higher resist but the recharge rate keeps it working longer in long duels & group PVP

I had a mabary belt whit +25 general mele speed and +25 general mele accuracy and ubese shirt .....
I had seel it.
Why if a PSG its a armor i can wear and i cant wear a mabari belt, i dont stand that change.
I lost a lot of millions but i can use a armor. I dont stand that change. The mabari belt dont protect me but the PSG ofcourse i dont stand.

On the modded PSG's, do you still get the bonuses when the PSG condition hits zero?
I have 2 of these but I have been so selective in using them.

As far as I know they do still give the bonuses

the other good thing about PSGs is that they do not stack with your inate armor, it instead works as a seperate layer of armor. so instead of....
PSG 2500 + armor 6000 = 8000 (or about 52%)
you get
PSG 2500 takes about 20% than armor 6000 = 48% for a total of about68%
those are rough numbers for somethign more precise check the AS forums where it was tested.
