Seriously now, when you master something, you inevitably lack in another skill that is useful but we can't master everything. So someone else with that speciality gets the mastery we don't but HELLO, they can't help us when we need it, so what's the point of mastering something like Healer or even Powers?
A BH can take those guys down quick cause they are total support and yet it would be nice to see more of these professions. It just doesn't seem viable.

...because nobody should be so uber that they can master everything?

I know, I am not saying that we should be able to master everything. That's not what I said at all.

Its basically a fact that the devs promote dabbling more than mastering.
The CU introduced the communist system of diminishing returns, basically saying that you shouldn't have too much of 1 skill. Personally I wanted to go Master Defender + Force Armor when I heard that I gain about 7% more in damage reduction in force armor 1 and only 1% more damage reduction w/ force armor 2.
The CU did introduce more diverse templates which is the best part of it IMO. No more do you have to soley rely on force or 4004 Healer, or MLS for that matter.
The rest of your arguement just relies on your saber components.

Yeah... but those diverse templates are slowly moving toward the same FOTM templates. More and more people are the same templates these days.
