Thread: Pearls add additional -1 FC? or just my buggy saber?

Okay, something I noticed for the first time tonight when playing with my crystal/pearls.
In my Gen 4 saber, I have a few different pealrs and crystals, none with very good force cost reductions. Anyway, as I was moving some in and out to test out DPS #s and max damage numbesr and force costs, I notcied something odd.
WHen i took a crystal out that has -3 FC, my FC went from 34 to 37, as expected. However when I took out a pearl with -2 FC it would go from 34, to 37?
THat had me confused, so I thought maybe it aws jsut that pearl was bugged. SO i tried with the other 2 pearls that are in my sabe. another -2 and a -4. Sure enough, taking the other -2 out, gave me 37. Taking the -4 out gave me 39.
I tried it with another crystal I had in my inevntory. That worked fine.
So my questions is this.. did I miss something in my Jedi Initiate School where they teach you that pearls take an additional 1 point off your FC? or is it just a really odd bug?

Pearls/Crystals all have hidden decimals on them. So if you have a -2.9 crystal and a -3.1 crystal and put them both in your saber, it will be reduced by -6 instead of the -5 that you expect.

there was a post here once a long time ago which some number cruncher came up with where you would build 2 or 3 sabers with specific stats and by installing /removing each crystal or pearl into each saber and doing some math could determine the exact decimal

Yep what he said... I have some -9s with 9.8 or 9.9 factor in them.

thats why you can have fc8 on a 4gen saber and only use -9 crysta/pearls but it should be
like fc12
