This is going to get me SO flammed but I don't care... It has to be said.

As a Jedi myself I have come to the forums here to read what people post at least 3 times a week. Every other post I have read however, is about how Jedi are too weak and BHs are too strong. So I decide to check the BH forums. They tell me it's reversed where BHs are too weak and Jedi are too strong. Is it possible people can't figure this out besides me? Jedi is such a diverse profession, that it is IMPOSSIBLE to make it fair for everyone. Jedi who are new, up to about 3/4th temp are going to have BH trouble. There is no real way to stop it besides the 0 vis idea, which is, despite what some will say, difficult.

CM is a difficult profession to beat for some Jedi, and an easy one for others. I am just amazed that people can't understand that the differences in a Jedi’s skills can cause different results in these fights. This is NOT directed towards only Jedi, but BHs as well since they behave the same way. It is true that Pre CU Jedi have distinct advantages then Post. I understand that Pre Jedi have better damage outputs then Post, but also understand that the number of Jedi since the CU have SKYROCKETED. With this said, so has the number of BHs, to the point where about 80% of all primary chars on the servers are one or the other. With the crystals/pearls broken, as well as the FRS sure Jedi are not as powerful as they could be, but that is something that people are going to have to deal with. It is impossible for SOE (which, mind you I hate as a company) to please everyone here. Imagine if a newer Jedi with a weak saber could stand up to and easily beat a MCM/MBH. How would a full temp fair? It would be a slaughter to the BH. I understand that this is in NO way comparable to the movies where a Jedi would be considered one of the strongest fighters, but again... Imagine that same scenario. If full temp Jedi could defeat them so easily there would be literally no challenge to them and there would be nothing for them to do but the basic looting. Also, with the differences between newer Jedi and older, the newer Jedi would STILL not stand a chance. In order to maintain any kind of balance for the older Jedi, the younger must suffer. There is no way around this. Now I don't support BHs either mind you. It is rare to get a diverse set of BHs to come after you. It is always the MCM/MBH prof (or the proclaimed "I win" prof). I believe the BHs should try other profs, however when beating a Jedi is as easy as it is with those profs it's not going to happen. I would like to see a change to the system myself, however, there is no way to balance the weaker without unbalancing the older Jedi, and vice versa. It is a vicious cycle.

Now please… Let the flames commence...

If your temp isnt the FOTM MLS/MDEF variants the BH/CM isnt that big of deal. I think instead of crying about loosing to a BH/CM if you are one of those FOTM temps, GRIND OUT ANOTHER ONE !!!! Oh wait, you can't AFK grind on kash anymore, so is it too hard now ??

As one of the new post-cu padawans, i partial agree.

Main issue is that people allways choose the strongest FOTM.

No doubt, with coming changes on Ranger, there will be a number of BH/MCMs going to be BH/Ranger (pre-reqs ver much the same).

To keep 0 vis is the hardest. I have gotten full visibility just because a BH flew almost over me when being on a almost deserted planet because the radar didn't update (no way to see him coming).

As compared to the professions: yes... jedi/bh professions take about (my guess) 80% of server population. Almost every jedi has a bh alt.... But this is inherent to the FOTM idea.

"Why does jedi/bh stay FOTM for such long time?" is the question that really needs to be asked.

Answer: it's SOE's milkcow/cashcow. The more jedi/bh the more $ it will give in monthly revenues.

Both the BH and some ignorant Jedi put their score on the greater pvp templates, which is the MDef/MLS or MLS/0040Def/3402 Enh combos using pre-cu maxed sabers.

By not working on spreading awareness about Master Enhancer/Healer/Wielder and post-cu sabers, we will be considered ok, and perhaps even overpowered, which suggests anerf.

You never ever see me claiming Enhancer is good/great/working as intended as long as they do not. Yes, they have some good powers in there that now works, and they are more useful than Healer/Wielder. But if we officially claim Enhancer as "Great", then the nerfcalls for Stasis will happen, and there will be no fix for ForceRun and 0040.

So I take my chances, chiming in when I can that X and Y doesnt work as intended. "Whining"is the only way we can attract attention to what's broken and get our profession fixed.

--- Cancelled 24th November 2006
Reason: The lack of multiplayer pve content and Star Wars feel.
For 3 years I have tried to find excuses to stay in game but only the expansions offered me what I subscribed for in the first place: A multiplayer Star Wars pve experience with friends around the globe. I found friends but with almost no addition of pve content they dropped out one by one. Now it's my turn.

Lets start with visibility.

Pre-cu jedi used to grind alone, it was slow and boring. Post cu you have the ability to grind in a group, its alot more fun, and takes some of the pain out of the xp needed. Generally these grind groups happen on planets that are populated, and more often than not, out of player cities now.

Pre cu to avoid flybys and such we used to hunt out on endor, dath, yavin etc. We knew that by hunting on populated planets the increase to gaining visability was going to rise considerablly. That was a choice / risk many took as the advantage back then was having a doc nearby to rez if you died (jedi used to lose 200k xp for cloning) a doc so you could buff up, a safe house / cantina and a dancer for the mind buffs.

Pre cu a jedi learnt to be aware of every thing around them and what to do, trust me you only tended to make a few mistakes before you learnt what to do, those that didn't learn were hunted continuously. Eventually those that couldn't cut the mustard quit the proffession, realising that jedi wasn't for them.

We learnt to watch the radar, have ctrl m up, have field of view turned up full, at the first sign of a dot we would stop using the saber and force. We learnt what a BH liked to do, and the many types of attacks they could form.

Post cu my guild has alot of padawans in it, we still practise mock attacks, we still teach them about the radar etc, some paddys embrace BH attacks, some are not far ahead enough to be able to look after themselves. We tell these paddys to stay hidden, stay safe. Those paddys have not got on the terms.

But i have to say that post cu Jedi are not being taught the essential skills of awarness, and this is where alot of them fall down. They are not being taught the visability rules and its getting them into serious trouble.

The Jedi grind has gone from a solo affair to a group affair, times have changed and its up to us, the fully templated to lend support and give advice when needed. That is all we can do, its up to the padawan whether they take the advice or not.

Weak tunes are an issue, but this is where the guild steps in, we have a master / padawan relationship in the guild to foster strong bonds. also to help with the gathering of decent tunes, and advise on template questions and tactics.

Even a fully templated Jedi can lose to a BH if they have not got the right set of counter skills, but this is what adds to the diversity of Jedi. There is no point imo of asking for things to be changed because a jedi died, because he / she did not choose the counter skill set. The chances are that another day, a different BH will come along with a different skill set and the same Jedi will beat him / her.

Here is a good link that will help clarify visability rules

And that's a ridicilous statement.

I for one am NOT grinding on Kashyyyk (sometimes going with guild for necro yes, but not all the time).

And I will not be mls/mdef

It's only hard in terms of getting non-vis or seeing how much vis one has.

If you are the BH/CM flavor, try being a new post-cu jedi instead, with crappy saber, crystals and npc spawning where you are doing your thing alone (and trying to not get visibility). If you can do that /bow.
