Thread: Newbies and the GCW and JEDI

Okay,first off, i really dont think the new people comming into the game (not really new jedi per se') but the new people period. the people starting to play dont care about the gcw. im beginning to find this out. all they want is jedi and yea, i think the devs did make jedi way too easy. i do mean way. me? ive been playing for ages anyway so...ah well. thoughts on this?
this is not really directed to new jedi really, but the new swg player.

lol I agree completely, the game is suppose to be IMP vs REB the goal is not jedi.

im seeing this is a new problem with the beginner players. bh vs jedi, newbie jedi vs old. well, this is the next new problem comming up. and finally guys, i admit, ive been playing for years, but yes, JEDI IS TOO EASY TO GET!

well. really it is.
i just feel sort of bad for those who spentlike 9 months trying to unlock.
jedi isnt hard at all to get. the only thing that will make people truly rare are the jedi who have deep pvp skills. outside of that, youre stuck. and this isnt about new vs old jedi, so dont make it that way. there are posts on that.

I've been playing for well over a year now(started May '04) The only time I took part in GCW type activities was when I was in the process of grinding BH(pre cu) I helped to take down a few bases for bh xp. Sure I only hunted Imps(guild rule)but Icould care less which side is "winning" the GCW or who has a certian planet. I never got into the whole thing, maybe I'm just wierd.

It's been said buy I /vote for holocrons saber tef and skill loss. And yes I am a jedi. And no I am not full template. I am willing to have my grind be 0981726089709824 times harder if it balances things out.

i have said this for a long time. check out this link to a post i made. i think becomeing jedi should be from pvp, and that way people will focus more on the pvp aspect and not just grinding

I've been playing since launch and have seen all aspects of this game. I truly believe that when Jedi were introduced into this game is when the GCW took a nose dive. The vast majority of players stopped playing the aspects of the game and began the crazy search for holocrons and mastering professions as quickly as possible. I know, I was one of them. The big PvP towns such as Anchorhead and Bestine dried up and became ghost towns and PvP was put on hold while trying to unlock. The game lost its true sense in late '03, as Jedi, being the iconic Star Wars, took ahold of the player base and the grind for it is now first and foremost on a big part of the player base. Just my $.02 worth.

/agree.
i also miss the 5min waits for shuttles. i could always get some good duels going....
no everything is so dry and boring

Sony taking control=downfall
But, the new people playing, all they want is jedi. and that means no player player immersion and communication. no gcw intrest. only "HOW CAN I BECOME A JEDI?"
