Jedis have no way of making money... well i made about 15k, telling people the stats on there crystals and pearls, but still far away from 5mil to buy 1 pearl, let alone 4....... It seems like SOE is tellin me to resort to Ebay, i wouldnt be suprised if SOE was selling credits on ebay! nah, maybe not, but the money issue, and my other character being completely useless for making money (Ranger, Imagedesigner), I know jedis arent supposed to be working, doing missions and running back to town over and over. How could someone actually play jedi without resorting to friends, or your main character? any money making methods for jedi?

Gads, I hope not. Imagine the cost of things if crafters had to rely on everyone else to provide their supplies, especially the rarer minerals/organics and such. Prices would be prohibitive. I am holding out hope for jedi that the Devs will realize that this current system for obtaining such rare items for jedi are out of line.

I am hopeful that some kind of quest system (for pearls) and surveying system (for crystals) is worked out and put into play soon. Yes, I am an optimist.

Not trying to troll or flame here - but why's everyone so dead set against making their money through they're main?

Other than selling the tools and crystal packs as decoration, running missions (dangrous as you have to keep running into town), I really don't know what you can do. Possibly sell your lots? You can /transferstructure and get 10 heavies set up and sell resources.

I am not sure, but I would imagine a vast majority of your time would be spent levelling your jedi instead of grinding missions for cash on your main. I mean, who wants to put a FSCS on the backburner while the main grinds missions for a week just to get a pearl?

My own hope is for the FSCS to someday become my main character, and my BH to become my part-timer. Cant do that with crystal and pearl costs and the methods to used to get them. Plus, it just seems -wrong- to me that things that are useless to -everyone- else are being sold at such ridiculous prices. The only thing worse are those that actually pay those prices, maintaining the current market.

Well grinding missions is hardly a quick and easy money maker. I know some people with alts who part time craft on them. Maybe you could consider doing that with your main? Hop on, throw a bunch of stuff in the factory, throw it on a vendor - then get on your jedi and tool around. Or there's always the lot idea. Resource sales seem to make the most money the fastest from what I've seen. And you now have 20 lots at your disposal.

Just a thought anyway. I can't really talk though... I started jedi with 16 pearls and over 30 million credits.

They um...wouldn't?

it's not like people start off as a jedi as a new player...thier mains will need to be very established to support it.

I am so jealous!

I can kind of agree with what your saying, but only as current workaround for the problem, which as I see it, is market inflation of an otherwise useless item. I just dont think it should be this way. I guess what really bothers me is that the Devs had promised an economy that was not EQ in space, and they failed to deliver, and further, failed to take steps to curtail it.

I of course would love to be able to start my character off with one or 2 pearls, money is not really an too tight otherwise, since I have a nice set of comp armour set aside for him already. So, I wont be hurting too badly at the start (when I first open FSCS) but the long run is not looking too good for me. I just hate splitting time between more than character for anything other than a break from my main.

Make friends, lots and lots of friends. Then you can get your own Krayt hunting group and get some pearls.

Please no Ebay... Jedi is too dissappointing to actually spend TONS of REAL MONEY on.

Drop your main character's template. Become master brawler and become a heavy swordsman. Keep at least hunting line in scout. You know have a template that can make a ton of money through destroy missions and harvesting resources, or taking on very difficult mobs and getting loot (Darktroopers, Surface Marshals, Nightsisters.) Or you could become a master armorsmith or weaponsmith and with a little business skill, the sky's the limit as far as credits go. I suggest learning weaponsmith / swordsman / scout / surveying so you can harvest the best possible materials to make premium weapons and sell them for LOTS.

Also, if you become a weaponsmith you'll have perfect access to best materials for making sabers.
