Thread: DO FS skills help you when you are a Jedi??

I want to make sure that I'm getting the FS skills that will be most valuable to me.

I figure that I'm going to want melee and range defense both as a Jedi and as a non-Jedi.

But if FS skills are only for non-Jedi and don't really benefit Jedi then I'm going to want range speed and range accuracy, since I am grinding my FS skills as a Rifleman/Pistoleer.

But if FS skills do benefit Jedi then I would place much more value on melee speed and accuracy if they help me with my lightsaber. I would also want the healing FS skills if they help me as a Jedi because I know the value of being able to heal yourself, but as a grinder in a group I don't place as much value on being able to heal myself. I either don't get attacked that much since I am a ranged fighter or there is usually some Doc, Combat Medic, or Jedi Healer in the group.

Also what's the value in Survival, Luck, and Persuasion FS skills? And again do they have any particular value to Jedi?

I guess what I am asking is, "Are there any Jedi out there that if you had it to do it again, would you get different FS skills and why?"

There is an extensive post about this in the force sensitive forums. But i will answer a few. General Melee speed and acc do help with LS. General ranged speed and acc do help with powers. The healer line in FS is worthless to a jedi because those mods are for medic/doctor/cm they don't apply to jedi healer. I took the all the combat lines and then luck and vehicle control. Read up in the FS forums about all the skills and their benefits.

melee spd and accuracy are a must if u want to go jedi...they help....so do melee and ranged def

the healing tree is worthless i believe to jedi since they heal at a constant amount per heal....500 at novice healer...1k at 2xxx...and 1500 at 4xxx

luck only helps u get more credits that u loot nothing else...persuasion lowers the cost for trainers...survival will give u some terrain negotiation but u can get that with be clothing or using force run.

u may want to get the tree in crafting for better experimentation that way u can make a better saber.

With Melee Speed and Melee Accuracy you increase your speed and accuracy of your saber. And with Melee Defence and Ranged defence you increase your defences. If you are force user, you can also ranged speed and ranged accuracy, which will help you with for example force lightning.

So yes, it helps.

they help but nothing that couldnt be balanced with a good ca.

no where near the cost of loosing 24 valuable skill points it took to get them...if they can make pilots and politicians zero skill points to attain boxes, they can do that with force village boxes.

Just a note here. As of right now it has been proven that you dont use both melee and ranged defense. You will use the defense associated with what type of weapon you are holding. Example: Wielding a saber (melee weapon) means you will use only your melee defense no matter what type of damage you are taking. If you are holding a ranged weapon the opposite is true, you would use your ranged defense no matter what type of weapon you are being hit by.

This will probably be fixed so dont just drop ranged defense but, if you want to hold a lightsaber, as of right now the ranged defense will do nothing for you.
