Theres some debate too on whether to use all your points in one expirement or go point by point. I havent personally figured out a difference but in either case its a matter of frequency/luck to get those amazing and critical successes. So basically go in to the project with a lot of resources and expect to spend some time at the crafting station.

The one I use now is 48 FC, 95 SAC, 148-247 damage, and that was with only one amazing success. I know I can do better as soon as I get my hands on a mass quantity of resources.

There is no debate. Using a single experimentation point while crafting anything in swg will preduce a superior item than if you even did 2 at a time.

I am an SOE customer, now only if they'd treat me as one...hell, I'd be happy if they treated me like a McDonald's customer.

Actually there is some debate with crafters, it works like this....

Let's say we are experimenting damage for simplicity. (numbers are not factual)

One point into damage with a great success, lets just say,2 damage points increase.

Five points into damage with great success, 10 damage increase (its giving you 5 greats in one shot)

Now

One point into damage with amazing success, how bout 3 damage increase

Five points into damage with amazing success, 15 damage increase (five amazings in one shot)

The idea being, you can do5 small lotteries or one big one, if youre doing the big one method youre reliant on the one "big score" to get your item the way you want it (takes a lot more attempts/resources)

I'ma shipwright onlyin my spare time so I'm not as versed as many of the veteran crafters out there, but thats my understanding of it. Ultimately with sabers because the numbers are so small and the resources often expensive, Ive had a tough time seeing which is better. (my best sabers by the way were made with the "many point" method, so I wouldnt say single point experimentation ALWAYS makes a better item in SWG)

Assume you have the best resources, a 12point suite, 43.99 crafting station and inside a Research City. You have the food&drink as well as an entertainer buff.

Do you need to get a Critical successes at assembly and at every experiential point? Sounds like lottery odds to me.

Can I please hear from those with 300dmg max sabers -this is an empty saber. I have only been able to hit 241 with 48fc and 96 SAC.

Thx

That's normal. I don't think anyone can hit 300 max and keep the SAC low.

This is being 2 2 2 3 in sabers, using a +42 station, the food/drink and the ent buff, dont have a suit or anything...just have 4 clear fair dmg crystals in it lol

Ummm... the numbers the OP gave were just the saber itself, without his pearls...
