bh can pick from nice proffesions like squad leader, combat medics, docs, swords, rifles, carbineers, smugglers, and just about any other powerful proffesions? Seems that one of the easiest fixes is to limit via skill points like we are, what you can choose from.

Technically, Jedi can also pick from any of those professions, plus the FIVE Jedi skill trees.

None of those five skill trees on their own are nearly as complete as any other single elite combat profession tree nor do any of them contain abilities that are more powerful or functional than those in the normal skill trees. (Except for stasis, but I'm expecting a nerf on that real soon(tm).) To add insult to injury, each box costs more skill points than a box in the same tier of any other elite profession. Actually, now that jedi abilities are all being "normalized", I'd say it's time to change those skill point costs and bring them in line with other elite combat professions.

I've actually thought about ways to improve the skill point cost, along with other jedi I am sure; and I don't see the Devs changing the skill point cost to the same as the elite professions. The reason being if one Jedi discipline was 63 points to master, it would allow for characters to master three disciplines and be 4400 in a fourth. With the implementation of CURB, the Devs showed that they only want two elite professions (or disciplines) to be mastered at any one time. This does not include Image Designer skill costs, as that is another bushel of apples entirely.

And like others, I came up with another possibility for the skill point cost for Jedi, but I don't believe that it is something that would be implemented. Basically, instead of changing the skill point cost to mirror an elite profession, change it to mirror a novice profession. This would still keep the mastering of a discipline to two and allow a third to be 4444. I also believe that this would cause a lot of flak from the rest of the players.

are you serious? Do you actually play? If you do, I assume you have NO offensive skills. . .

The only thing we cannot choose to have is DoTs (except for choke)...

Jedi are lucky in that we have a nice selection of skills from which to choose. As long as you master an offense (some will say a non-master is ok) you can choose any other makeup of skills to allow you to play the role you choose. No, we are not an all-in-one combat character that can do EVERYTHING needed.
