Thread: people say devs want jedi out ?? but ...

hiya I've been reading in quite a few posts that people assume that the reason jedi is getting nerfed to hell is because they (soe) want to make the jedi proff so utterly useless that no one will want to do it and thus lower the jedi population..
Butthere are 2 small things that don't make sense
1. if u make a new toon and walk your self through the new player tut you will come across a guy that askes you about imperials or rebs etc .. he ends the conversation with you saying " now hurry he's coming" you reply "Who?" then a dark jedi spawns and the guy your chatting to whips out a saber and a battle begins ..
Now why Rub this into a new players face if they don't want players to want to be a jedi ?
2. if u watch the video clip on the swg web site TOOW shows battles against some of the elite boss creatures of the new expansionwith 2-3 jedi fighting along side eachother.
again why show this if they want to lower the jedi population.. it makes no sense
sure i fully understand that were getting nerfed to bits but there must be more to it that just to kill us off ?

Marketing.....those two senarios tell nothign of the horror one must go through now or the lack of a rewarding experience.

Yep. That hits the nail on the head. They draw them in with the Jedi mojo, then they hope they lose interest in Jedi after seeing what it entails, and then get hooked onthe normal game.

Well for a newbie player, with all the quests, space, and kash there seems to be a lot of content. To people playing a while, it doesnt seem a lot. I just wish they would FIX the bugs/spend more time fixingand take longer to push things out due to that scenario (like Blizzard does). But then again, that is another side-effect to marketing.

Jedi is a great way to sell the game, end of story. People won't realize they are a walking meatlump until they speed 200+ dollars.
