Does valor and blocking work without a saber, like vader blocking Solo's blaster shots on bespin.Or is it useless for someone without a saber?

I would believe it doesn't...


as it adds +25 SABER block


But don't quote me..... not too sure on this

thats is what i thought but if you read valor it states "this ability allows a jedi to go into a defensive stance and block much of incoming ranged attacks at the cost of severely reducing their damage capabilities" and there is no mods or mention at all in the skill mods of + anything to saber block or even a mention of any bonus to block at all.

Does valor have a damage reduction when it's activated?

It originally did, but was taken out, and w/ reason too. The activation cost and duration is too steep for it to have a damage reduction on top of it, that and it basically negates the usefulness of the skill.


And to the OP, I think that i've read that Valor does indeed work w/out a saber, but I could be wrong...a good runner up question would be if vayerblock stacked ontop of MLS + Valor (and someday FRS).


I'd PM Bac about the Valor question, he's good at replying to PMs and stuff.

what about vayerbok? (the block food..) Think I read in a sticky it was broken, but we've had handfulls of pubs since then, could someone with MLS eat a vayerbok then get the same block valor would offer?

my experience with vayerbok is....


max craftable is like +25 BLOCK not SABER BLOCK


if you are MLS you have +25 LS BLOCK and this doesnt stack with a +24 block from vayerbok


however im a x4x4 sabers template - i tested (over an extended period of time - 200 hits or so) vayerbok and no vayer bok - blocked with vayerbok on about 24% = and 20% without it - not conclusive enough data to be statistically certain of these value though... but it would seem that only non MLS will see a benifit from vayerbok and those without any of the xxx4 tree would see alot - allthough im not dropping that tree to test that

It doesn't work without a saber. Vader was using an old skill that you see in KOTOR 2
