Thread: A sad fight

I have been a Jedi for 5-6 months nowand have entirely enjoyed the CU in that it makes fights last a little longer and brings a little more strategy into play. However last night I had my first taste of why some people hate how slow the fights have become.

I was hanging out on Lok hunting Corsairs when the usual blue dot appears on the horizon and just sort of hangs out there. I ate everything in my pack and had my Imp Infusion and Imp Aura macros kicking in and at this point the blue dot (BH - Freezer was the name) starts the attack along with his Battle Droid.

Of course I dismantled the Battle Droid in about 3-4 hits so that was no big deal. Trouble was not that this particular BH was a Master Doctor also..... what ensued was amusing at best but entirely a waste of time. I put the BH on follow and proceeded to auto-attack with Adv Saber Throw as he was kiting me this entire time. After a couple minutes of this fight I realized that my health bar was really never getting below about 75% so I checked the combat log and the BH was only doing about 200 points of damage with each hit. The trouble of course is that because of the skill points used in Master Doctor this BH could not do enough damage to make a dent in me and also because of his Master Doctor status he was able to heal and keep up with the damage I was doing (I was hitting for 600-750 per hit).

Needless to say this went on for about 45 mins (He was doing so little damage that I was able to channel while we were fighting and after 45 mins my force bar was still up around 85%) and we finally decided to call a truce so he could go on his way. I gave him some helpful advice and told him that his template was great for staying alive but I highly doubted that he was going to kill much with it (although he said he had killed some marks earlier that evening).

The sad part for me is that with all these game mechanics, etc..... SWG has still managed to allow us to make templates that are effectively a stalemate against each other... what is the fun in that? I could have honestly fought this BH for 3 hours and neither of us would have won. I honestly like to put forth solutions when I post something like this but have no idea what a good solution would be..... anyone?

my experience is exactly the same lately. If I am somewhere where i cannot refuse a fight to the BH and am forced to fight, i notice the same thing...all they know how to do is heal VERY well and KD...

The same happens in any game where players can choose characters and both choose high defence/heals.

I dont think its a problem of SWG but an unforunate side effect of the specific matchup you have. I have both a BH and a Jedi toon and never have these fabled stalemates. All my toons are designed to hit hard, with the only way to stop me is to kill me first.

I'm not saying I win all my fights, cos I get battered sometimes. But I win, die or run screaming like a stuffed pig. Never have fights for more than 5 mins tho and most usually less than 3.

That temp is ment to wear you down. Chances are if you didnt realise the small damage amount, you would have drained your action/mind/force trying to kill him.
