Thread: The Problem is pearls not templates.......

I have to scratch my head when I read this forum. We have way too many threads discussing how jedi is too weak & how the MBH/MCM is unbeatable and so on. Then we have threads discussing peoples wins and losses vs BH and everyone is a god, with virtually no losses. So do we have a bunch of liars? Or is it that all the cry babies looking for nerfs to anything that they might lose to just dont post their record because they are ashamed of it? Personally I'm sick of all the nerf calls and whining. The BH vs. Jedi Combat system is working correctly. The problem is the pearl situation and the resulting weak sabers. If the pearls are fixed and the sabers become as strong as they should be we would stop hearing all the calls to make every other profession weaker. Think about it, do you hear many Jedi with between 600-700dmg sabers calling for nerfs? NO The problem is not templates, its pearls & poor tunes.

A CM healing a medic/combat driod with bacta spray is a problem for ALL JEDI regardless of pearls.

If you can't beat a Cm/doc 1v1, quit the game now.

This is an exploit that needs to be fixed, not an intended part of the combat system. Sure it contirbutes to the already existing situation, but would not be as magnified if most of the sabers did more damage.

I gotta agree there...after unlocking recently, and tuning roughly 60 pearls / crystals I have been saving, my best 2 tunes are as follows

pearl

52 dmg / -0.25 speed / -2 fc

crystal

79 dmg / -0.16 speed / -3 fc

That's a hell of a lot of tunes for those, and they aren't anything to /cheer about.

On a side note, I did tune at least 10 crystals with 15 - 20 dmg and -0.01 speed...what's that all about?

I have tuned about 30 Pearls/Crystals recently and have gotten the following..

109 -5, 98 -7, 90 -8, 87 -9, 86 -9. I think I am just lucky but it does prove if you tune enough that eventually you will get some good ones. My advice is wait until you get about 15 perals/crystals and tune them all at once.

Before tuning the above I thought it was impossible for people to tune over 100 but seeing it for myself I would say that it is definitely possible you just need to get out there and kill Krayts like pre-cu Jedi did. In the 100's.

I've been doing this, had 13 pearls drop for me in the past few days. It's good advice because its more productive then complaining about it on here and its all we can currently do.

Pearls are the major problem for us in PvP, 2nd would be knowing how to PvP, and 3rd would be the template.

I don't PvP often anymore so I know I am out of practice, but I just can't beat a jedi with a saber that has a +700 max damage.

tuned over 70 pearls post CU

Best ive got is 111 -3, 79 -7, 108 -2 105 -4.

Luckely i had some decent tunes pre CU only 2 tho

And yes it wasnt like every Pre CU Jedi got the 50 -9 pearls handed to them, they dropped less and took longer to kill. When u tuned over 100 pearls and havent got 1 or decent tunes maybe you should /bug your character LOL

I sometimes think that its a little unfair that the Jedi profession is the only one that has its damage effectiveness affected by a random drop, and ramdon tune of 2 extremely rare resource...

Maybe they should change the pearls/crystals to have a lower limit of 50-60 damage, that way you'll get a standard low level damage for all Jedi across the board. But also give you the possibility to improve your damage by hunting, collecting pearls/crystalsand shear luck..

Just a thought...

no no no !!!

1 -Know your template/skills
2 - learn how to PvP against other templates
3 - Learn about food/drinks to get better defence/regen
4-Saber comes into play

I guess we just vary opinions a bit Argonithe.

I can duel against people similar to my PvP level, but with a saber over 700, I lose every time. Take that 700 saber out and it is more 50/50.... just my experiences though.
