I doubt they are all that interested in stopping it. Maybe, but if the account is simply cancelled, they make $0. If it's sold, they continue to get $15/month. I think it stinks too, but I think a lot of things in this game stink, #1 being the CU and #2 the lack of prem/flawless pearl drops. I think there will be more and more jedi as time progresses, simply because I do not think this game has as many new players joining as it once did. Half of the low CL peeps I run into are Jedi alts, trying to level up. I wonder what the new subscription numbers are now days? I used to recruit for my guild pre-cu and there were always lots of new players entering the game. Not so sure now. The fall off in total players, not just new ones,on Corbantis is almost shocking/sad when you think about it. Oh well, it's just a game right lol.

Peace

how does that solve the populationg problem at all? People are selling JEDI toons, not ability to become jedi. Its definately not a good thing but it wont solve the problem. Typically its a person that sells their log in information for their already unlocked jedi. Also let me add in here on a side note that xp loss does nothing to limit the jedi population. Maybe it limits the amount of full temp jedi but it does nothing to stop those that are about to unlock jedi. The whole xp loss was introduced to discourage credit farming between friendly jedi and bounty hunters. If you really wanted to limit the jedi population then introduce xp loss during the village grind. Every time you die during your grinding of fs skills you loose xp. That would prolong the time before unlocking jedi, but allas those that are determined to become jedi would do so anyway. And no matter what eventually you would have an influx of jedi toons and the population would explode.

Too often players and the devs have a mindset that professions should be balanced with 1 on 1 pvp in mind. This mindset is ruining the game. The benchmark for balance should be determined by the role a profession plays in a group setting. As long as the current mindset continues we will never see uniqueness among the professions, nor will we ever see individuality within a given profession. We will never see the SWG universe expanded as the focus will only ever be balance pass after balance pass after balance pass.

Clicky This is down right ridiculess! If SOE wants to control the jedi population they need to come up with a way to stop people from selling and buying accounts on Ebay. Im sure that this is some sort of violation of trademark as these players are making a profit off something that is the property of SOE. Soe you need to start going after these people. Ofer a months service for leads and tips on who these accounts belong to that are being ebayed.then investigate and Bann the account. People who leave this game who see this crap jedi going for $555.00 are going to eventually do the same thing its allready a problem. as long as Jedi accounts are not being purged when players leave the jedi population will continue to get out of control. Stop this from happening and it will help there are a number of accounts that have been Ebayed.

it used to be, but SOE wanted to get their hands on the loot as well. Have you ever heard of Station exchange?

Feel free to take each and every Ebay auction and report them to SOE. They do shut down certain auctions, just not many. The fact is, it is against the license agreement to sell your login info, even if you are auctioning the "time spent to __________". The "offense" is selling your login.

Actually Ohiv sold his account on Ebay then "stole" it back by resetting the password with the secret question answer.

Stole $800 from some poor sap.

Do you honestly feel that stopping the E-Baying if accounts will really reduce the Jedi population in any meaningful way? Compared to the total number of Jedi out there only a handfull get E-Bayed.

problem is SOE is implimenting some thing on the same lines where you pay money for in game items from other characters and it might be the same with jedi, but people who ebay jedi are normally fairly smart in what their doing, you either gain money if your not going to play or you don't, personally i'd rather gain money

I'll sum it up for you why they do nothing about Ebay'd accounts.

SOE is not going to fight something that is keeping money flowing into their pockets. They would have to probably take some kind of legal action against either ebay or the account holders in question of this which would cost them money.

Why pay money to fight something that gives you money?

This isn't entirely true. I know for a fact SOE has and will continue to stop Ebay transactions... I've seen em taken down. What puzzles me is why SOE would create a RL auction (for cash) for in-game items and accounts for EQ2 - HOSTED by SOE - but would not include their other titles in such a website.

They will be including other games in the future, as long as the tests on EQ2 show that it is successful and profitable.
