The only difference i see to cloak hvaing a snare is after the jedi is allready cloaked and not attackable they will run slower. **edit** is the big deal about that esspecially with the fact that most people who dabble in powers for cloak that caused this change have force run allready so they will still move rather fast while snared.

If you read the Correspondents post where a dev is quoted, it's obvious where things are headed.......ANY skill that allows a Jedi the ability to escape like you suggest will be nerfed.

I think it's rather clear, no burst running, nor forcerunning, no channeling, and no logging out while you are cloaked. If you do the "stealth buff" will drop. That means the BH can just follow you the entire time until you drop out of cloak. Lets just say if you had to cloak to begin with you probably don't want to uncloak before you escape....which with the nerf will be impossible now.

Not trying to cause a war here.... just a question.

No they didn't intend Jedi to loot containers without fear of death. Anyone can just run through a dungeon with FR or even using parwan/burstrun, it was the ability to open chests/lockers that needed to be nerfed.

It's funny.... the concensus here is that the devs cater to BH's and on the BH's boards, they cry that the devs cater to you Jedi.

The best quote I've seen from the BH board is "Didn't you know? It's an exploit to kill a Jedi"

There is nothing "rather fast" about FR. Only FR3 could be considered "fast" and that takes a master box to attain. Instead of screwing over the cloak skill, they just need to put it in the master box. That would solve so many problems. Cloak should be a master skill anyway. It is definitely on par with stasis, avoid incap, etc..

Well what i'm saying is you still get away cloaked. Once the /follow command makes it so you cant follow a cloaked jedi noone will know where you are so you can still get away. Sure if a BH is tracking you your screwed but thats you getting yourself on the terms and into that situation.

Unless you plan to do nothing with your Jedi after you complete your template that situation will happen to EVERY Jedi. Saying don't get on the terms is not possible unless you shelf your Jedi, period.

I do agree any other type of attack you will be able to get away, say invading a base/city and your group needs to retreat, well cloaking will get you out of there if they fix the /follow command. BH's tracking you is unavodiable however.

I think this nerf is a combination of two whines, one is legit where cloaked Jedi were interacting with objects (bases/dugeon loot) they should have no business unless they uncloak....you'll find most reasonable Jedi agree that needed to be fixed. The part about leaving combat without dying is definetly a nerf in response to BH's, that I'm sure. That means the snare (which is what most Jedi are complaining about) more than likely was brought to the attention because of whining BH's. That's not to say there is not whining Jedi, but I do think BH's can claim victory on this one.........well that's until every Jedi regrinds to Master Defender then a new "Please Nerf" thread will apprear lol.

Here is the problem as I see it. And it has nothing to do with snare.

Every Jedi ability is being put on par with other Elite Professions now. So much so that now that Elite Professions are being "upgraded", Jedi abilities are being reduced to bring them in line.

Why?

Every profession should be unique, not homogenized. The irony is that BH is unique, Smuggler is unique, SL is becoming that way as is Ranger. I assume at some point in future the other Elite Combat Professions will as well.

And Jedi? Jack of all trades master of not a whole lot.

Let's take a look.

Powers? I'd rather be a Rifle/Ranger

Defender? TK/Sword

Saber? Pike/Sword

Healer? Oh please. Doc FTW.

Enhancer? Well not a whole lot here of value except TN I suppose since the above classes have a better Defense capability and the remaining skills really deal with Force Maintenance and Drain.

So there we are.

I just hope they start over with Jedi. It looks really stupid now.

the more people around you, the more force cloak eats, someone cloaks and get snared, all the enemy has to do is type /fo and they'll auto follow the player until he runs out of force. From what Bac also said, using non combat actions have a chance of revealing your location.

ya but the /follow command is a bug and will eventually be dealth with. When cloak is fully implemented and works as it would there will be no way to know where a cloaked player is so they can still get away just be slower.
