Thread: newbie but not
What is your currently template? Might have something to do with ur defenses...
I am a post-CU jedi and don't know how the system used to work. But if your defenses are pretty low, you'll need Healer 4xxx to keep ur health up.
DoughNuts wrote:hi, i have been playing this game for quite some time now but circumstances meant that i had to take a 6 month break the day before the CU hit. I have just started playing again but am stuck as to what to do. I tried killing a hurton matron with my near MLS toon but got my arse kicked. I guess i am missing something really stupid here as i know specials have a timer on them now. I was doing this unbuffed as i was under the impression that buffing for day to day grinding is no longer an issue. It was my health bar that was depleting the quickest. please help as nobody from my guild is on at the moment to hold my hand while i learn the game again.ÂThanx
We can now group up to kill mobs, while gaining no vis from our fellow group members. Also you receive full xp for even one hit on any mob you are fighting. Grouping is now the optimum way to grind.
What combat level are you, and what level was the hurton? If it was a lot higher then you would find it hard to kill solo anyway. You want to rotate your specials to maximise your attack speed. Also what do you have other than sabers? You really need to have either some defender or force armour, and definately some healing. One hurton shouldn't be able to do more damage than you can heal with novice healer. Also you should try to get in a group, solo xp grinding isn't effiecient anymore.
Sorry this is kind of general stuff, its hard to be more specific without knowing your whole template.
You have a lot of new rules to learn. The old grind is out. But you still need to grind. You will want to find a group.
Grouped members no longer give visability.
It's back to Mind and Force, not Health.
Aciton and Mind Regeneration are key. Buff them.
There is a lot to unlern, good luck....
