Hello, I am a Post-CU jedi (Decided MLS wouldn't work too much for me due to no good pearls, and Pre-CU jedi would wipe me), and I was thinking of doing M Powers/ M Def, with 3002 enh and novice healer. (Yea Ill stack Ruby with Steak and protient wafers). I was just curios, even with force breach and all that, is powers really that weak. Lightning/Force Strike/Forcehit?

Thanks for any responses.

Breach if it hits (which isnt that good even with high acc) takes away SOME buffs not all. Now consider it takes 200 force to breach, say you ahve to do it 4 times to remove all buffs so 800 force. Person then reapplies force armour, force shield, infusion, aura and voila they are back in fighting form with no real downtime.

Lightning is pointlessly weak, choke is great against non jedi but vs jedi it ticks often for 140 odd due to force defences.

Force strike and force hit to stupidly low damage and arent worth it.

To be effective in powers, you have to know what you are doing. You can't run into a fight zapping things left and right and expect to do anything. Everything is about timing and strategy. Non-jedi, dmg is pretty good, for jedi...eh it kinda sucks. However, in mass pvp, you can still be helpful. Powers is more of a support thing....area intimidate...area KD...they all can really help. It's not an I WIN button, but it surely is fun and can be effective, just have to learn how to play it.

OK here's the deal with Mastering Powers... They say they made MPowers as a viable alternative to MLS... well they lied.

Master Powers is only REALLY ment for 2 kinds of people. People who want a cool looking combat proff, or people looking for advanced I.E. more challenging gameplay. If you are looking for Master Powers so you don't have to get the pearls to make a good LS think again. You might as well make a rifleman or carbine alt & go otu & start farming for pearls & crystals now & hold off on the grind till your LS max damage can get up to around 500

Use of these two skills will get you killed in PVE, as it draws all agro to you.

Bacciacca stated yesterday that the new FRS would be pretty much 1v1. Now I do not know the details behind that statement, and I know he can not tell us yet, but I have a feeling that at a minimum it means FRS xp will not be shared in a group it will be based on the player that did the most damage prior to the deathblow recieving the xp. In that case a Mpowers "Support" player will never rank and benefit from these supposed back end damage bonuses we were going to recieve in the FRS.

Yeah, that's how I read the tea leaves, too. That means you better be a MLS/Defender type with a good saber or the FRS will pointless for ya'.

I bet that the really good bonuses will be for Powers users that will be effectively barred from ranking, while the templates that are able to effectively rank will recieve little or no real benefits from ranking.
