Thread: Lightsaber Post NGE?

Will we still be building our own sabers after all this (as is the Jedi tradtition) or will we be issued them? I hate the idea of that as I'm sure most of us have named our sabers and have a certain bond with them, as any Jedi should.
If we do still build our own, will resources and quality still matter? What about experimentation? Pearls and Crystals?
Man, I want some answers!

Resources will be the same, from what ive read. Also, saber crafting will too. So, I think everything will still matter, but, what about saber experimentation?

Well, I mean will we still be able to experiment on them, will LS exp tapes still work etc.

Nope, LA/SOE are selling ingame add space to Wal-Mart. When you need a new Saber, you just head there. As you walk in, a Greeter named Obi-Wan will tell you which isle your sabers are in. When you get there, you will see the MSRP and what you are being charged at Wal-Mart. Of course your Wal-Mart Saber will not come with batteries and you have to actually sign that you understand there is a choking hazard before you can buy it.

Thats the only thing I havent seen. They haven't really clarified anything about any CA's, but I highly doubt they will convert and/or be useable.

If that is the case, would it be in my best interest to rent a suit and try and build the best saber I can now you think? I'm just LS xx42 right now...

You have til the 15, so Id grind as close to xxx4 and rent/borrow a suit. Thats what I would do...

Well they seem to be removing speed at the very least. not sure about SAC or force cost.

well, great, I really dont know now. I just read apost by tiggs stating every weapon will have 2 stats. range and damage, with a few having an elemental damage.

Not a bad idea..I could grind Ls xxx4 in a few days, rent a suit and make a new saber, put all the experimentation points into damage if the other stats are being removed and just hope it converts well....
I'm still not sure how to feel about all of this. I sincerely feel bad for th CHs though (I have several friends that are CH) Take a look at their board if you get a sec, they could use some love.
