Thread: Question about History of Jedi

Old School.
As an old school BH and new school Jedi who ground under both Pre-CU and Post-CU, I have NEVER seen a Jedi take out ten people. Two, maybe three if they did not know what they were doing, but ten people would have slaughtered the best Jedi on my server. Moving on...
You may have hit the nail right on the head in the numbers. There are a lot of us now, and frankly, it wouldbe better if we were weaker to encourage players to not want to play Jedi, thereby immersing people more into the Star Wars universe SOE has provided for us. We should be hiding. I won't GCW PvP with my Jedi toon because I feel, as Jedi, we do not belong in the GCW.
As far as canon goes...this game left canon a very long time ago. Actually, it left canon at launch. Dathomir is not canon, Lok is not canon, Talus is not canon and Rori is not canon. Having Swordsmen being more powerful than a trooper with a T-21 was not canon nor was allowing aliens in the Imperial Navy. I accepted this at launch and have fun with it...knowing that NOTHING that happens here is canon other than we cannot harm any of the named NPCs.
Jedi during the Republic were not invincible. Need I cite you Coleman Trebor, who was a Jedi Master on the council? Coleman was shot down easily by Jango Fett. He had his saber out as well...for all the good it did him. Hundreds of Jedi were struck down in the Geonosian arena by thousands of droids and Geonosian troopers. Those were the "cream" of the Jedi crop, too.
We are where we are. A lot of times, we as Jedi have our own numbers to blame. An example of this is cloak. It was used and abused and now it is being changed. It wasn't Joe Blow Bounty Hunter who caused this, it was the leet kiddie Jedi who wanted to be able to loot things in the DWB without risk. I could go on and on, but the point is, these are the cards we have here in SWG and we can either choose to play this hand or fold. I choose to play.

i think you have some good points there...i have seen some jedi kill a lot of people..lol...it was back in the fr2 hit and run games.....but as far as canon goes i agree...soe didn't really follow much canon at all..the one thing you would think they would follow though would be the elite combat status of jedi..which they did in the beginning but now i believe there is a little bit of an imbalance with certain combat professions being at lvl or more powerful than jedi.....but i always take the cards that i'm given and just play the game as it is...i have always had fun in the game....bugs,exploits,imbalance really hasn't ruined my gameplay....if it wasn't for good friends it might have...but, i think in one point in time we have all had these type of questions on our mind.....

that was so cool looking. Like a warrior with a sweet sword. Anyways, I think the main reason they cut down Jedi power was, no matter how hard you made it adventually there would be a "boom". And there was, about a month before CU most of my friends were becoming jedi and I was within 2 phases of unlocking(all xp stored). So, give it 3 more months and you would have another 10% of the PVP population as Jedi. Well this is no fun for non jedi, and believe me from being no connection to the force all the way to Jedi was a long road, and why would someone want to spend 6 months of grinding just to be exactly like all the other pvpers. So they needed to make other professions balance better with Jedi. Like you said, Jedi in the beginning a 4444guardian could take on 10 people with his eyes closed. Well, say you have just a mere 8 jedi on each side, well hell what good is a combat medic going to do against someone who is basically mpowers/mls/menhancer/mhealer/mdefender with a 1200 kinetic saber? What good with 5 of him do? It would take 50 guys to take down 8 jedi, which is a bit unfair in a mmorg don't you think. Everyone wants to be uber, getting pwned 1vs10 is fun for 1 person. Well one person is 15 bucks, 10 people is 150.......clearly you skipped dev math 101 and went to algebra instead...
