Thread: FS Crafting Experiment = no improvement in quality? Has something been missed?

FS Assembly: sounds pretty straightforward. No surprises.

FS Experiment: I think most of us expected this to be the thing to make FS worthwhile for crafters. More experiment points. Yet reports indicate it doesn't do that at all - in fact it doesn't do anything you can't get by visiting a city with Research (or maybe, wait for it... it stacks those hard-to-quantify success improvements? ). Meaning you can't make anything better than you already can - you just might be able to get those amazings a little faster.

FS Repair: also seems straightforward and as-expecte.

FS Technique: What does this do? Could this be the improvement we've been expecting, since experimenttion wasn't it?

The greater chance for an Amazing Success is a Godsend if you're handcrafting a one-off weapon using a rare component like Krayt Tissue.

My post isn't intended to start (another, as in city specs) debate about the uses people find for success improvements. That said, 2 extra experiment points to use on those krayt items would be a far greater benefit than a 20% greater chance at an amazing.

It's about the lack of the general crafting improvements that had been expected as a crafting aspect of FS. We can already get success rate improvements from cities and food that eclipse the level of improvement we're talking about here.
