Greetings Jedi,

I have all my FS unlocks under my belt, and I'm just slogging my way through finishing the FS XP I need, so its just a matter of time for me to unlock my Jedi.

What I want to know is, what is the best lightsaber to craft for a beginning Jedi??? Which generation shold I go with??? Apart from my Training Saber, that is.

Any help you could give would be much appreciated.

I would say use a low sac low force dbl-blade gen 1 or 2 and go up the dbl-blade tree xx4x to at least xx2x so you would get the spin option.

With the spin you can grind in spingroups that way you get awsome xp if you are in a good group. lvl 78, 79, 80 piks lairs will be done in under 5min. 35k-50k a piece.

cheers,

Ok, after CU there is now "best" anymore, except the higher generation is better and holds more stones.

One handed, two handed, or double bladed... that's gonna depend on what you want as far as what style you want (that's mostly just looks) and what abilities you want. The one handed saber line gives you one handed speed and accuracy (and two handed line gives two handed and double bladed line gives double bladed, blah blah blah), so If you want a one handed saber you'll need to take that line for the speed and accuracy (this is all assuming you're NOT gonna master sabers). Now, if you want an ability that one handed sabers doesn't have, like armor break or spin attack, you'd have to take part of another line. If you took the first two blocks of double bladed sabers you'd get spin attack. If you've done the one handed line and get those two blocks you'd be sitting at 4020 sabers. Spin attack is a double bladed ability, but you'd still want to do it with your one handed saber, since you have better speed and accuracy with it. I'm going to master sabers. Currently I'm at 0422 and I use a two handed saber.

As far as generation goes... That's based on your combat level. The highest generation (fourth) requires CL54. I used a fourth generation the entire time, except for a couple of days when template shifting dropped me to a CL 52. Your sabers stats are determined by the quality of the crafting and the stones inside. Don't expect a whole lot right now as crystals and pearls are a pathetic joke. Sadly, most people who master sabers don't do it because they want to be a saber master, they do it because without pre-CU premium pearls a dabbler in sabers just doesn't have any real damage output to speak of. My pearls are pretty good (not great, not "uber") and my saber has about a 600 max damage and I'm about about 450 DPS. My best attack can barely break 1000 against a CL80 mob without armor break.

If you have the resources, craft up a few of each style and make sabers for your current CL and what you'll need above and below your current CL. Your CL will change a lot as you sac old skills to progress Jedi. Good luck, though, and may the force be with you and all that...
