I am thinking about abandoning Defender myself and just mastering Enhancer, but I know that the latter drains alot more force and in the long run just doesn't defend as well.
Enhancer is there to increase your existing abilities, not to replace them

I would say Defender state defenses are better because...
Force State Resist (Enhancer Move)-- costs force when someone uses a state attack on you.
Pretenatural Defenses (Defender Move)-- Also has a skill that makes Ranged attackers miss you ALOT. Also doesn't cost you force when someone uses a state attack on you.

i'm a MLS, M Enhancer myself, and it is a good, viable template but its not for everyone
1 on 1 isn't a problem, but in large scale battles you have to accept that you are a support template, use your roots, snares, stasis to set up kills
its taken a little getting used to, especially since long ago i was a TKM and even defender, so i got used to charging into things...and you still can, but your timing had better be good lol
either way, i enjoy my template, its fun and thats what i was after
