It kinda sad that because the only way to get XP is grinding in a grp..Why do I say this. Well its 8:00 am and I just got home from work so I thought I would put in a hour of grinding since I am changing templ (again) but guess what I cant get a grp going because its to early and I cant grind bye myself because SWG has thought up this nonsense of everything being group base in order to get faster XP so I guess I go to sleep and later I will grind. Thanks SWG you forgot that some of us do work odd hours and like to grind alone. Nite

I think the real issue with grinding solo is most players come into the jedi profession with stacked abilities from non jedi professions that cause their CL to rise beyond their actual jedi powers.
Try dropping stuff that doesn't help in your template or just go for broke and drop them all cause they really hamper your ability in the long run when you can't manage creatures enough to grind.
It is very possible to solo grind, I do it all the time before and after the CU hit.
Their decision to split up the xp in a group makes perfect sense to me, that's how it was pre-CU and just makes sense. Try explaining that to the "instant gratis" and "double size me" generation though.

This is not a good idea. If you want to grind solo, stock up on Instant Stims and use your regular weapon to finish off the critters. Your CL determines your max xp per kill, and whenever you grind in a group you will be punished for having a low CL. When grinding solo, it doesnt matter if you get 500 Jedi xp as CL 20 Padawan or 500 Jedi xp and 3000 rifle xp as CL 80 Padawan who finished off with a rifle.
Apart from that, the original poster is re-grinding he template, so he starts out as a CL 80 full-template Jedi.

solo grinding is possible, but its tough, to do it as a new jedi, you would need to drop most other skills to minimise your cl
